Yesterday I tried going to Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island (US) with my parents.  Operative word is tried.
The zoo is undergoing renovations for a new children's zoo ring, but it's still a pretty place.  We did get to see lots of different animals...emus, red pandas, African elephants, harbor seals, and lots more.  It's a big place.
What went wrong is that I'm still grappling with...things, just like I had been earlier in the week, and hadn't slept well.  I felt like I was on autopilot the whole time -- not good no matter what the excuse is -- and to add insult to insult I didn't remember to bring my Nintendo DSi (which has the camera), and that cost me at least three or four good photos that I could have put up here.
(sigh) I have to snap out of this somehow...
