My friend told me that instead of going to the big boss about the abuse at the front desk I should just not talk to the other co-workers unless spoken to and only do my job and not going around looking for work too much. I think they are intimidated by the fact that I seek out and find work that should have been done a long time ago by the women who have been there forever. Simple things that I do seem to astonish them or drive them to jealousy. I made a small cardboard box out of a big one to fit a shipment. One of them said that I should have been an engineer. I carved a pumpkin with the company logo - DRA with an inverted Nike swoosh, and the other one said that I was trying to get a promotion. So the hell what if I am? Isn't that the kind of stuff we are supposed to be doing? In their spare time - they text. No wonder they're jealous! If they would put their phones down and look for work, they could come up with some creative ideas too. The worst part was when I helped a client out a little too much - made some phone calls for him - and I was totally vilified for wasting the company time. Ironically, while I was making those calls, that woman's boyfriend stopped by the office to see her. Who's paying for that?!? The other woman, makes personal calls on the company phone several times a day! Who's wasting time there? So I went in and sat at my desk and waited for the phone to ring, just like they seem to want me to do. I don't know why they gave me a long list of responsibilities if they only basically spit in my face every time I ask for help or to do their part. It is like they are trying to make it look like on paper they are giving me a lot of work when in reality they do not want the competition that I bring to the table, or the hassle of helping me with the projects they've assigned me. Stupid!!!
