Therapy
My therapist wants me to start journaling again. I've been lazy about it since I've been depressed and not even turning on the computer for days. But I'm feeling better. Last night I had a huge breakdown because I missed my dad. I don't want to go into it because I might start crying again. It's been 18 years and it still hurts. I can't imagine what my brother is going to go through in a couple weeks when it's the anniversary of our Nana's death. He took it really hard and couldn't even talk about it for months without crying. I know how he feels... it's the same loss as me and my dad.
Geo and I went to Burger King the other day and we just sat and talked. We were there talking for like 2 hours. It was quiet and empty, so we weren't disrupting things. We used to do that at Taco Bell as well when I was on unemployment. We would have our dates there because we couldn't afford anything else. But it was always fun.

Loss is hard. I wish there was a way to make it easier for you. Perhaps the journalling will give you a place to put your thoughts which might in turn give you a way to sort through them. I\'m glad you have someone to talk to. It\'s amazing how much just talking can help.
larissa, I understand the feeling of loss, and how it never really goes away completely. it lessens somewhat over the years but it is always in the back of your mind and some days are much worse then others. I have this with peter, it will be 25 years in October that he was killed and I still miss him so much. sure I go on and raised the children, work etc... but it isn\'t and wasn\'t easy. is your current depression related to this feeling about your dad? your therapist is right, journaling is good, a good way to get out feelings and thoughts you will keep inside. many hugs my friend
it\'s a hard time on the anniversary of anyone\'s death.. i understand how you are feeling. .i\'ve been feeling the same way this week. It\'s that time for me too. for my dad. then the next day is my mom\'s B.D. so i\'m remember her too.
I hope you feel better soon. It\' s not fun to be depressed. I am glad to see you are doing your journal.
thanks for the support.. I need to start getting back to journaling.. I\'ve been going downhill and hopefully I can get through this Spring without ending up in the hospital. I DONT want to go there.
The sad feelings about the loss of a loved one seem to come creeping onto us from nowhere. Most days we are fine and then something sparks a memory and we get flooded with sadness. I have this with the loss of a grandson. He comes and lingers in my heart for a couple of days. I try to look for the happy times with him but the hurt is still there. HUGS!
