Back to Work
Today I returned to work. I wanted to see my doctor today, but he wasn't in, so I will wait until tomorrow. Work was good... I missed it at first, but once I got into the swing of things it was good again. I'm going to go again tomorrow, and then I have Wednesday and Thursday off, and come in again on Friday. The work is easy, and even though the computers were giving me problems I still was able to get my work done. I just had to restart my programs every now and then. I wasn't going to let the computer stop me from getting my job done. I didn't count how many appointments today, but it wasn't as many as I've done on other days. I was on hold with some people for over 20 minutes today, and that kills how many appointments I can do in a day. I wonder, though, how other people in the clinic work. I don't want to be showing anyone up, but it seems like people around me aren't working as hard as I do. I see people on the internet all day and stuff like that. I'm not going to name any names, but there are people there who work hard and others who don't do anything.
Not only that, but there was some drama today at work before I got there that everyone was gossiping about. There was this other volunteer there that apparently went off on a couple people and started yelling and screaming. She got fired, and called the cops on my boss in retaliation. They actually asked one of my coworkers if she wanted to call the cops on the other volunteer, but she said no. Instead, the cops had to deal with my boss, who was innocent and the cops realized that pretty quickly. I think that's crazy that happened. That's all I know about the drama. I like knowing what's going on around me. That may make me a gossip, but oh well. I don't like saying bad things about people and using their names. I would just say “someone did ____” instead of saying their name. If people can figure out who I'm talking about, then they would have known that person was capable of doing whatever it was in the first place.
After I finished in Managed Care, I went to the Information Desk and helped out there. I was calling people and telling them their appointments in Spanish. I didn't understand what one woman was saying but oh well. I know that I understood everyone else. One woman didn't want her appointment, but the woman who does the appointments was gone, so I just left her a note saying that appointment was open. My boss, Daisy, drove me to the store when I was done there so I could stop by a Western Union and pick up my birthday present from my mom. She sent me $50, which is way too much money for her, but I can't send it back. Daisy is so nice, and I'm glad I have her around to help drive me when we don't have the car. I didn't want the money sitting around in Western Union's banks for too long, since I don't know when I'm going to need it.
Mood today was good... It was just a regular day, nothing too special. It was nice to get back to work, and I worked a long day. I'm going to try and work from noon to 5 for the rest of my workweek so I can get into a routine for working there part time. I need to go check out the openings that they have for part time positions so I can apply for them. There was supposed to be a spot opening in Managed Care, but Terry, my boss there, said that they weren't going to open it. That kinda sucked, since I know I can do the job there, but oh well. I think it would be more exciting than scanning in stuff all day long, but if it was a full time position I wouldn't have been able to take it anyway. I can't afford to lose my Social Security payments yet... I need some time to think and evaluate how I'm doing before I can go back to work full time.
Food today was good... I was lower on calories today. I'm going to have some cake later because I can, and get myself up in calories a bit. I weighed myself today, and I'm back down to my weight before I went on vacation. I'm down to 225.5, which is good. I think I had gained some water weight, and maybe some muscle mass. Everyone at work said I looked skinnier than I did when I left, but I think that they were just trying to be nice. Even if I did gain muscle and lose fat, it couldn't have been that much. Oh well, still it's nice to know I'm back down in weight. Stress was low today, and sleep last night was good. I got 12 hours, so that's always a good thing. Now it's time for me to go to bed again!

yeah, great happy journal! wow, you siad about work, the people who do nothing, sounds oh so familar and they get away with it, whether getting paid or not. just know that you are a better person with a great work ethic and that is not showing anyone up. gossip is the way of the world and it is hard not to know what is going on, and it makes me wonder what people say about me. that is awesome about getting down to your weight before vacation, and gaining muscle will make you look thinner and it speeds up your metabolism. so sweet of your mom, what plans do you have for the money? great day all around. hugsss
How great to have a friend like Daisy! Super of your Mom to send you such a generous gift.
BTW - Sorry I missed wishing you HAPPY BIRTHDAY last Friday. My world got sort of crazy last week and I thought about you when i was away from my computer.
It\'s great that you are back to the weight before you left.
that was a wonderful generous gift from you mom. Enjoy it.
Daisy sounds like a wonderful person. it\'s lovely that you have her to help you.
