Hi,
I was in a reminiscent mood when I sat down to write. DS is not only slow,it's up to funny business. I was about done - the screen flickered/changed & everything disappeared. NO CLUE what happened. How does that happen?
I don't know how it's working for ya'll, but it is horribly slow here, don't even know if anybody is able to get through much or at all right now.......it is as if DS has been hit by an interactive viral snowstorm.......high drifts, a brisk winter wind and none of the DS snowplows can get through.
Making everything slow, difficult, sluggish, frustrating..........and none of us know what has happened or why. If there was a msg from DS this DS girl didn't get it..........the ones they send when they are updating. Got zip, did ya'll hear anything?
I feel like Horton from Dr. Seuss.......can anyone hear me out there? Will this msg even save or show up?
Life is a mystery. The sunshine is velvety soft today.......the rain made a half hearted effort to rain again this afternoon but after only a small handful of drops...........felt like a small doggy from above was shaking itself off after a bath............after a few seconds there was nothing else coming down. It barely dampened the patio. The air is light, breezy............whisking lush velvety brightness over everything............the leaves have a shimmer......the world looks younger.........fresher, cleaner.......content.
We have had many storms, this is a pleasant reprieve. Two more camelia buds are about to open......and the small but sturdy hydrangeas are beginning to bloom. Cool blue blossoms.........so pretty.
The ants have rediscovered the interior of my home. I went outside looking for mounds, see nothing. Sprayed around the bottom boards outside.........nothing too extreme, hopefully it will back them off from coming in here. Little ant soldiers seeking food and water.........I am a tender heart.....but I do not wish to lodge any bugs UP IN HERE. They have got to go. There were ants marching into the kitty food bowls........argh. Got that cleaned up - poor kitties, they don't need any buggy croutons on their food.......erck. nobody here does.
Last night I read several articles about, as well as written by Laura Hillenbrand when she was struck down with CFS at the age of 19 & her journey going forward. It was late, but I got caught up in her story. I knew she had CFS, - had never read any of her personal accounts. It touched me ...... there are so many brave people here I've been blessed to come to know here........so many lives changed and I hope that we can all find ways to live with a sense of contentment and hope. So many things she said and things ya'll have shared I have felt, experienced..........it helps so much to have these shared journeys. I have so much admiration and respect for all of my DS friends, we all have challenges in our lives and it's what we do with these challenges that makes the difference.........hugs!
I have a lousy headache, I ate some low sodium sunflower seeds last night, either the seeds or this weather does not agree with my brain. .....wah hah hah hah.......my baby brain hurts Maw! Fix it........gonna have some yogurt ........work on my weekly food prep, (chicken & veggies to cut up and store)...................thinking about a big salad for dinner with chicken strips again.
OH HEY almost forgot, I had QUICHE REDEMPTION yesterday! I made a recipe called "Impossible Cauliflower Quiche" and it turned out great! The big thing I noticed? The recipe said to bake it for 20-25 minutes.......it took 45-50 to bake it all the way through.
No it didn't burn the pie crust or the top.......it just became a deeper shade of gold. .......so now, ha ha ho ho, I realize if I had just cooked the one I tossed out LONGER it would have been ok probably.
Learning to cook new recipes is a trial and error process made even goofier by my own scrambled brain. BUT I'm hanging in there, dinner last night was very tasty.
Right now I'm jonzin' to do some drawing with my colored pencils...........gonna break out my sketch pad. My drawings seem to have a curious connection to Dr. Seuss somehow. Similar but different. I'm not very good, but the small sketches I make ......make me smile so I suppose that's something? They used to entertain the children when they were small........when did I become so old? Time is tricky.......some days take forever and yet decades are gone in a snap.
Sorry my first journal was going to be a journey into the sixties, but I lost the vibe and landed in reality ......rats. Hope you don't mind too much. Still enjoying a reprieve from spasms for the most part. It's good.........definitely any bit of better is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
Hugs, prayers in care of you & yours...........Adieu, Sparrow
P.S. It's starting to rain again..........I'm going to go out and sit on my daisy bench awhile. xoxoxoxo

Yippee, I can see this and read it, oh yes I can.
I think we are all having problems in here right now, I was about to give up on DS the other day, hadn\'t heard from any friends in days and days and presumed my hugs and messages were being lost in the airwaves somewhere too. That\'s when I realised that my many friends were probably feeling the same way too, like everyone had dropped off the earth and gone to sleep and forgotten about them, this made me decide to persist, keep sending those hugs and messages in the hope they will eventually make it through. It is as you say though slow, maybe DS has come down with CFS too.
I can give you some rain if you need it, the glorious weather we had for a week has gone and the last two days have been wet and very dark. Ya know I am loving visualising those blue hydrangeas, just bought some on Friday as a gift to my Mum, is not a flower we see often here in the UK they were beautiful, a very pale blue.
Impossible cauliflower quiche is not something I would attempt, anything with impossible in the recipe title would be dismissed straight off but congrats on persisting with the whole quiche experimentation. I have to disagree with your dislike of onions, oooohhhhhh yummmm lovely very underrated food stuff they are, love lots of onions, garlic and ginger in everything. Better buy shares in a mouthwash company though.
Hope the tax stuff is easy to sort out, isn\'t too stressful.
Big big hugs
Jen
