UPDATE

Life is about falling – Living is about getting backup.
THOSE OF US WITH BP AND OTHER SERIOUS ISSUES NEED TO MAKE THIS OUR CREED!!
I'VE BEEN OUT OF TOUCH FOR A FEW DAYS. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG JUST REALLY....BUSY. YOU KNOW THE ROUTINE: APPOINTMENTS WITH THIS ONE OR THAT ONE, DEMANDS FROM OUR KIDS, GAL PAL MEETINGS, VOLUNTEER WORK, HOUSEWORK, YARD WORK, COOKING AND ON AND ON WE GO.
I AM NOW VOLUNTEERING AT THE HOSPITAL GIFT SHOP. IT IS ONE SHIFT A MONTH FOR THREE AND A HALF HOURS. I HAVE EVERY THIRD THURSDAY FROM 9:30 TIL 1:00. OF COURSE, YOU ALSO GET CALLS TO FILL IN FOR OTHERS. I GOT CALLED IN YESTERDAY. GLAD I HAD A BOOK IT WAS A LONG....SHIFT.
MY GIRLFRIEND, LINDA, HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY TRIP YESTERDAY TO WHERE HER YOUNGEST SON GOES TO UNIVERSITY. APPARENTLY, ON WEDNESDAY HE NOTICED THAT THE VISION IN ONE EYE WAS VERY SHADOWY. HE WENT TO EMERGENCY AND THEY RAN TESTS. THANK THE GOOD LORD HE HAD ENOUGH SENSE TO GO AS YOU KNOW KIDS. ANYWAY, IT TURNS OUT HE HAS FLESH EATING DESEASE IN HIS EYE. THIS IS VERY....SERIOUS!!! THIS BACTERIA CAN KILL YOU IN 8 TO 24 HOURS. IT IS VERY RARE, IN CANADA THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 200 CASES A YEAR AND 15 TO 25 PERCENT DIE!! AT ANY RATE, HE WAS VERY LUCKY AS THE RETINAS WERE NOT AFFECTED BUT HE DOES HAVE TO HAVE THE CORNEA REPLACED IN ONE EYE. HE IS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL. I HOPE TO KNOW MORE LATER TODAY OR TOMORROW. ALL PRAYERS FOR HIS RECOVERY WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THEY USUALLY DO NOT KNOW WHERE THE BACTERIA IS PICKED UP BUT IT IS CONTAGIOUS. OFTEN THE BACTERIA IS ALREADY IN YOUR BODY BUT FOR SOME REASON STARTS TO FEED ON ITSELF.
I GUESS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO HEAD OUT AND DO SOME WATERING. WE HAVE HAD VERY LTTLE RAIN AND THE POTS AND NEW GARDEN NEED A GOOD SOAKING. I AM THINKING THAT ALL THE STUFF I PUT AWAY FOR HURRICANE EARL I WILL JUST MOVE TO THE GARDEN SHED FOR WINTER AS IT IS GETTING ON IN THE SEASON. OH, POO!!!
WELL, I HAVE SOME LAUUNDRY TO DO AND A KITCHEN FLOOR THAT NEEDS CLEANING. FUN STUFF!!
BEW WELL. DEBBIE

Oh wow!! so sorry to hear about your friend\'s son. I had a friend who had the flesh eating disease in her wrist after a surgery. It was aweful for her for two years after that. I will keep him in my prayers.

It is good to see you can be so active, but darnit, you have to take your own advice, lol. Don\'t overdo it....

I am disappointed too that the fall is approaching. I love Fall but it means winter is around the corner. Summer goes faster every stinkin year. With all the heat and lack of rain here, my flowers did not make it as long as usual. I am just grateful for the beauty of them that I am given.

Stay well Debbie.........blessings. xo

Is your friend Linda the school teacher? I will keep her & her son in my prayers, That\'s scary stuff.

Yeah, I\'m not looking forward to winter, it\'s so hard for me to get around!

Take care Debbie,

And isn\'t it really hard for us to get up sometimes, it takes all we have. If and when we get up it is a feeling of exuberance. Guess for beepers it is a greater achievement.

I volunteer at our hospital too. They wanted me in the gift shop but I couldn\'t stand to sit still so I am pushing people in wheelchairs to tests etc. Sometimes they let me do more than I am supposed to but who cares, I don\'t operate. In early spring I plant flowers and then the gardener takes over.

I also work at the Womens Resources group, may have told you that. I run the meeting for abused women and help them recover (get rid of those a------ that they are married too), but I have to be diplomatic. We find places for them to live and get jobs. It is really a great program. Damn no wonder I break down every now and then.

I surely hope you friends son recovers. That is a very scary bacteria. It does not respond to antibiotics. I do have a couple nurse that are clients and one of them treated a women who lost a lot of skin and it was awful. I will say prayers for him.

Had the wake picnic today, very sad but nice to see people you only see at funerals or wedding, why does it have to be that way.

I have a lot of yard work to do like you but I am taking a break tomorrow, or shall I say I will try.

You send the W word, bad girl. You made a promise. NJ xo
