This is the goodies we had at the tea room. There was way too much for the 3 of us to eat. The scones were to die for and served with homemade jam and Devonshire cream...yummy!! After the lunch the 3 of us decided to go in search of "the holy scone recipe". I had tried making scones once and they were like freaking bullets. I am a good cook so I could not figure out what went wrong so I never attempted them again. But after those scones I just had to find a recipe for them and the Devonshire cream. Long story short, an intense internet search yielded the desired results. The scones are so...delicious. The cream, well, it can not be made from scratch unless you have unpasteurised milk. We cannot get that here unless we went to a farmer that only has a few cows. But they did have several recipes for "mock Devonshire cream". So I made one and it was really very close. I am putting on a high tea for my gal pals in a few weeks. I will be sending out invitations. I also inherited a real silver serving set from my hubby’s grandmother. It even has the initial B engraved on all the pieces. It should be fun.
I have to go to a roast beef dinner at 4:00 today. My hubby is the "Grand Poobah" of his masonic lodge this year so I really have to go. I am taking my girlfriend and her hubby for company. Hubby will be busy in the kitchen or serving. I am sure I will have a good time.
My face is slowly healing. It is no longer sore. It is still rough due to the burning but with the creams and masks they gave me it is getting better. I don’t see a lot of improvement but this usually takes about four weeks to see any and then it continues to improve up to 6 months. With all that pain one would like to see miraculous results but it just does not happen. If I want that then it is a face lift and I am not up for a slice and dice!! Lol!!
Didn’t get to the gardening yesterday. However, I did clean the car inside and out. I also bathed and dried my dog. Plus a little house work. So not a total loss of a day.
Sometime early in the week hubby and I must attend a funeral. His uncle died Saturday at the age of 69. He had MS for 40 years and has been in a wheelchair for at least the last 15. He was also a severe diabetic. Some people have such a hard life.
Well, there is nothing else that comes to mind so I will say good bye for now. Peace to everyone. Debbie
