I thought this saying was very apt!! Had a good night’s sleep AGAIN!!! I took two melatonin last night and I only got up once, went right back to sleep and GET THIS did not hear another thing until 7:30!!! the kids come at 7:55 so I was hustling my buns. If this keeps up I’ll need to start setting an alarm. I haven’t had to do that in about 30 years!!! don’t get me wrong, guys, this is definitely NOT a complaint!!! I forgot how good it feels to actually feel rested. Now it’s supper time and I am starting to drag the butt a tad but then again I’m hungry too. I have to wait to eat as we are joining friends for supper as usual and she does not get off until at least 5:15. I hope that I have enough energy later to take the boys for a half hour walk.Didn’t walk this morning as we usually do because it was so... cold 0 degrees. This is well below our norm and I don’t like it one bit! Didn’t warm up a lot during the day either but the next few days are suppose to be better, normal. The days will be about 65 degrees, nice temp.I had a lot of odds and ends to do today plus the regular stuff. I finally sewed a broken strap on one of my bras that has been like that for about 2 months. Gawd, I hate to sew. Beat with a stick and I’d like it better!! LOL it took about 10 minutes, five of which was spent trying to thread the needle and I have one of those needle threaders. Age is catching up with me but I am running fast so it will have a hell of a time catching me. I’ll fight it tooth and nail.Had the boys again today. Mostly it went well. After school they both wanted to paint. I had bought each their own paint set and paper plus extra brushes. They stayed on their work mats on the floor and were very neat and careful with the brushes. Anyhow, the older boy who I will refer to as R finished first and decided to work in a coloring/puzzle book. Now I bought 2 sets of identical crayons EXCEPT one had a tiny picture of a boy and the other Winnie the Pooh. The younger boy I’ll refer to as B finished and was playing a basketball game. I was in the kitchen washing the brushes. While I was there ( the next room) B decided he would color and he wanted the crayons that R had and was hitting R and crying because R would not give them to him. R said that he could have the other set as they were the same. By this time, I am in the room and b is having a tantrum and trying to grab the crayons from R and hitting him. I took his arm and told him to stop, he tried to pull away from me to get at R. I picked him up and sat him on the sofa. I told him he had a choice: he could color with the other crayons as they were the same ( he disagreed in a whiny voice...oh, me nerves), he cold play another game, he could watch TV. He said no that he wanted the crayons. I told him that was not one of his choices. So he sat and cried and flopped around on the sofa. I, of course, ignored him as did R. He was not pleased!!! Then he crept over to the edge of the sofa near r and tried to get them again. I said you are to be sitting on the sofa. He said I am. In fact, he was standing on the floor with his bum just barely touching it. I got up and picked him up and sat him smack in the middle. I put my finger in his face and said you WILL stay here until you decide to behave. He whined for a few more seconds and then watched TV. All was going well for ten minutes then mum arrives. Well, you know what happened, yup... he burst into a loud wail. But I had already filled her in on the scenario. She said that’s life. Yeah, I know some of you may think that I should have made R give his younger brother what he wanted but that’s not how life is so why teach them that. He will quickly learn that I cannot be played!!!Anyhow, I just wrote the last paragraph after going to supper. I feel better, nice full tummy. I had a wonderful turkey soup and a roll. My gal pal, Michael and I also split a small onion rings. So I was a good girl and pretty much stayed within my diet.Well, it’s late and I want to spend more time with hubby so I’ll say good night. Catch everyone tomorrow. Debbie

Congrats on the good sleep. I\'ve found I need to take two melatonin too for them to work for me but they sure do help.
I agree totaly with how you handled the boys, giving in to them when they whine and act up is just setting the stage for them to become spoiled, self centered manipulative little monsters.
Sounds like maybe you needed a wee bit of a snack to hold your blood sugars up while waiting for dinner. We usualy eat ours pretty early in the day so if something or someone delays that we both get tired and a bit shaky.
It was clear here last night and I thought we\'d get to that 0*C too but only got down to 38*F. It\'s coming soon though.

You are absobloodylutely right Debbie with the way you sorted the boy out. Kids need walls and you showed him the line he mustn\'t cross. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And 0c brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We got down to 2c last night and I am sat with layers on already today but I refuse to use the heating yet. At least we still have sunshine...hope you do too.
Wishing you many restful nights sleep.
