738911odnhs3dj1p.gifThis little insert is very appropriate. Last week we had two major storms in four days!!! In the end we ended up with about 70cm, about 35 inches for my American friends. My hubby was so... glad we bought a snowblower last year. We have had as much snow in two days than we did all last winter. I love the look of the snow, everything looks pristine. We took a drive, we have a four wheel drive jeep, the spruce/fit trees were heavy with snow, a real winter wonderland. The temps have been pretty reasonable for this time of year, nothing to cold. I hate the cold, I just want to hibernate in my snuggly jammies. According to the Farmer's Almanac this is suppose to be one of our most snowy season for a long time.

As I said before Xmas I would not be one line very much, if at all during the holidays. Between the feastive season and all that it encompasses, I've had a few too many bad days for my liking. some of the days were mild depression, a few moderate and then a couple of down and out. Today I feel pretty good and yesterday was good too, I'll knock on wood that this continues. I see my pdoc on Tuesday, i'll go through the usual routine, how you feeling, same ole, same ole. discuss stressors. Fool around with the meds..... nothing new. The Women's groups is over and i'm kind of sad, it gave me something to look forward to every week even on my off days. Plus I got to see and spend time with my dear friend.  I will now have to make an appointment to start seeing my counsellor again. You know I wonder what normal is like, it seems like such a long time ago that I felt anything near normal!!!

Christmas was very good, little stress, nice to have my daughter home. It was so much fun watching her open her gifts. she was really thrilled. I must admit that I did go a little overboard but I was trying to make up for the 3 Xmases she was not home. She was upset for a little while and I felt so... sorry for her. She doesn't have much money, having just started a new job a month ago and having her own apartment for 2 months. i told her not to get us anything for Xmas. But when do they listen!!! she bought us a $30 gift card from tim Hortons, a local coffee shop. she also bought her boyfriend's parents a $15 one. when we opened her present it was empty, she tore the box apart looking for it. Then she started to cry. she had accidentally put both cards in her boyfried's parents gift!!! I felt so... sorry for her. We told her it didn't matter, it was the though that counts.

Boxing day was a little stressful, thank heavens for my hubby, he can always be counted on to do his fair share of the work. this is they day that family and friends gather at our place for a meal and to view the gifts and socialize. there was less people this year as some of the family did not make it home. nonetheless, we had 18 people. Everybody just finds a spot or roams from room to room. the meal went over well, especially the deviled eggs and all the desserts. I had one rule for everyone, that at the end of the evening everyone had to leave with a full plate of left overs ( make your own sub meal). As usual, I always make too... much, I would rather have too much than not enough. It worked out well, we only had a little left, lunch for 2 meals. I had a few panic attacks but I take my coffee upstairs to my quiet space and veg out for about 15 minutes. all in all it was a good day.

Well, I've gone on way too long and I don't want to bore you to death. I'll close for now and I'll try to keep up with everyone. happy belated New Year. Be well, Debbie

You could never bore me, your journals are always interesting!! It sounds like you had a great Christmas / New Year. So did I, it was very quiet and I like it that way. Too much going on always gives me a headache or I have a panic attack. Normal living, I can\'t remember that either. I\'m going to call my Dr tomorrow because I have to have stronger pain meds than I am taking now. You sure got alot of snow, one thing I don\'t miss is the Maritime\'s snow storms!!!! Well take care dear friend, hugs Cathy
