Today my daughter is coming home for the weekend because she has a wedding to attend on Sat.. We finally figure out that it was best if she took the bus here and back so it was not so stressful for me. Of couse, I am paying for the trip!!! She never seems to have money even though she is working and getting good tips. 
She does not manage money well and then it becomes my problem!!! Her pay check is on Sat. but that doesn't help now. so it will cost me $ 60 for a round trip plus I gave her an extra $20 for spending money. My husband says I'm too easy on her, and he is probably right. Maybe if I said no more often she would become more responsible. But I can't see her without money for rent, food, clothes etc. She knows I'm a really softy, maybe I should turn this over to her dad, things would definitely be different.
I am sure it will be somewhat of a stressful weekend as she does not do a great job of cleaning up after herself. 
Her bedroom will look like a bomb exploded by the time she leaves on Sun.. so guess who's left to tidy it up.? Ugggg.. good old me. It really tics me off. I am a fanatic about my house being clean and mega organized, I don't know where she got this sloppy behaviour, dad is like me. Anyway, it drives me nuts, I make her keep her bedroom door shut so I don't have to look at it. Oh, well it's only for the weekend. And I probably won't see much of her between the wedding and visiting her friends. Don't get me wrong, I love her dearly, she just drives me nuts sometimes.
I have been up since 12:00 midnight, up every hour after that so I am going to be a little draggy today and probably tomorrow too. I have trouble sleeping when my hubby is away. I am nervous to stay alone. Even though I have an alarm system, a dead bolt on my bedroom door and my cell phone with me. The reason is simple we had 3 break ins in 15 days a few years ago!!!
They happened during the day time but I still worry about it!!! Also my dogs go nuts if anyone is even near the house.
Today I have to get a few groceries ( yuck) and a nail appointment and I'm going to try to hook on my rug a little tonight, haven't felt like doing it, if I don't well that's okay because it's suppose to be a hobby not work.

I hear you about the kids making a mess. One of my kids leaves the dishwasher door open just because he knows it makes me crazy. Once in a while just to be funny, he will open every cupbord in the kitchen so when I walk in aaaaahhhhgg. Kids, ya godda love em.
I hope it gets easier for you until your husband gets home, I have been alone for a long time now, and I know it can be scary at times. It sounds like you have a good system though. I will be thinking about you.
I get the kid thing, like you said, you love them but they can drive you crazy at times. I\'ve been on my own for so long,17 yrs, that I don\'t get nervous by myself anymore. But I\'m sure if I had break ins like you I would be terrified.

I remember a friend of mine getting ready to go visit her daughter at her daughters first place. You know what my friend was looking forward to? Leaving her towel lying on the bathroom floor for her daughter to pick up.LOL I understand you fears, especially after the break ins. I always have trouble sleeping when Dan isn\'t here even though I have two dogs and everything locked up. I usually end up falling asleep with the TV on. I hardly ever watch television but need the company when I am home alone. I hope you have some time to enjoy your daughter and that she doesn\'t drive you crazy! Donna
