Just Be

There are so many reasons that I do self harm. Some of us cut others disapear into other personalities and some suffer deep depression while others stuggle with addictions. There are different ways to act out in self harm in order to cope with what ever is driving us mad. I realized the other day that if I am not busy doing something I fantasize about hurting myself. I have become so good at avoiding memories, hurts, mental and emotional abuse and condemnation that I allowed it all to define me. I am so afraid of being. Ok...so what if we stopped obsessing for a while and just take a moment to appreciate the air in our lungs? What if we opened our eyes to see the powder blue in the skies? What if we reached out for love and was caressed by a gentle breeze? What if we enduldged for a moment and enjoyed our favorited meal? What if we could smell the salt in the ocean air? What if we received warm fuzzies from a compassionate kind word? What if...for a moment all this could happen... if we would "just be." Posted on 07/13/12, 07:52 am

I am trying to practice just being in the moment and getting out of my fevered mind. It is a hard thing to do when you are not used to it. I hope you will be able to do this more and more. Good thoughts.

If you can express it and imagine it, it can happen. This is a great, encouraging post. Hugs
