Update
I never cut because I felt deeply miserable. It has always been the result of generally feeling "happy", when things went well and it seemed like I could lay in my bed at the end of the day without having to worry about oh so many things. For me, cutting requires a certain amount of mental strength that I simply don´t have when my mood can be described as being really depressed.
Lately, which means during the past few days, my cutting urges flamed up again. Since it´s not my first choice of self-injurious behaviour nowadays, I don´t find it too challenging to suppress them.
I have a rough idea of how many calories I can consume per day without making me feel too guilty, and when I overshoot this mark, it´s not only extremely frustrating, it also fuels my cutting urges. It´s not something that makes me feel more depressed, at least that´s what I can tell from my personal experience. It´s something that my depression doesn´t capture, it´s a new, own thing, mentally wise.
I´m going to be more careful about my intake from now on. Like I said, fighting the urges isn´t that hard for me, but I definately don´t enjoy this nagging voice in the back of my head.
