Well yesterday was a shit day.  I’ll post the letter I submitted to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission today, on a charge of harassment, it says it best.  “September 12th, 2007To Whom It May Concern:  On July 28th I was trying to clean out my truck and the warehouse at my office when I was approached by a coworker named Maria.  She needed a number for a computer tech that I had been in contact with for the company, to see about installing a network.  I did not have it, but emailed him.  I asked Lois, another coworker/supervisor and boss’s wife why she was contacting him, since she had only asked me to look into installing a network the night before.  She got very agitated and insisted if I thought I could install it to drop everything and install it.  I was very busy, but she did not care.  Saying things like I was holding up Maria’s pay raise and forcing her to buy cat food to eat.  All day I was very upset and had to call my doctor’s office that day for an emergency appointment the next day.  I ended up taking a week off of medical leave due to the stress of the situation. On September 11 Lois, in a meeting with another coworker, Fred, told me I could to set up a better email system, as we had discussed this in the past.  I agreed.  An hour later when I presented her the price and information she got gruff and said someone else would do it.            Latter that day she got upset at me, and in an angry unrelenting manner she accused me of wasting money and damaging the office and making the office look ugly.  For example the new computer I helped the company purchase was not completely combatable with out current computers, but she blames me.  She says a partition that was installed upstairs was only installed because of me.  She also referenced having a 1500 dollar computer sitting on a deck up in the warehouse.  When I retrieved it, the ladder fell and Lois accused me of slamming things, with no regard to my life.            When my boss, Cecil, her husband, came in he was busy with Fred and so I did not talk to him then.  I called him latter and asked him if he was still busy, he said no and I asked if I could talk.  He agreed and I told him that I felt like I had been trying to do a lot of things to please the two and I was only going to do drafting, design and engineering from then on.  I went on to tell him that I did not appreciate Lois accusing me of things I have not done or am not even thinking about doing.  He told me he did not think she was blaming, but rather I was taking it too personally.            The next day I was in the field finishing up some prior responsibilities for the company.  When I returned I had to fax something, went downstairs and all I said was good morning to Lois.  A few moments latter she said she wanted to clear the air.  She went on to tell me calling Cecil was childish, that she was not going to have people wasting the companies’ money, that I was acting like a kindergartener, and when I tried to talk to her she said it was over and we had to move on.  She also told me I would do what the company needed me to do.            I again feel intimated and am more fear full of my work environment and co workers.  I have been unable to sleep because of all the turmoil and stress at the office.  9/11 had a special place in my memory for me, and now it has been tarnish by one cruel woman’s harsh words that will forever be engrained on my soul.”  I would have left it as it was last night, but her calling me those things this morning were just too much.  I left an urgent call for my therapist before I called my boss, and I yet to hear back.  I believe I handled it all very well.  I do not know what to tell my boss about this morning.  They will be shocked when they get the phone call.  I would like to hear what everyone else thinks.  I really hate my work environment now.  I am going to have to really use the drugs to get some sleep tonight.
