I guess it's safe to say that the panic attacks have stopped for the time being. Sometimes I still get a few physical symptoms when I'm trying to sleep (mostly heart palpitations, choking feeling, and feeling like I'm being jolted awake) or after I smoke a cigarette (heart palpitations...I know, I'm trying to quit!), but they don't freak me out as much anymore. I no longer feel completely exhausted and on the verge of falling asleep all day long, and I've gone almost a month without any caffeine or sugar which has helped A LOT.
Emotionally I feel better as well, most of the time. I'm always somewhat worried and dreading the day that the panic attacks start up again, because they always do. I'm hoping that next time I'll be more prepared and able to recognize the symptoms quickly so it doesn't get as scary as it was. And sometimes (I think it's anxiety) I find myself thinking about a girl I was friends with online that died suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart problem almost a year ago, and I start worrying that that's what is happening to me. I try to remind myself that I've been to the hospital and they checked everything out, but I'm still sort of afraid that they missed something.
