I think maybe my panic attacks are coming to an end. I only had three yesterday as opposed to having them constantly the entire day. I even managed to fall asleep without the help of meds, and I haven't taken any Xanax in a little over two days. I woke up having a mild one this morning, but it calmed down as soon as I went out to the living room and talked to my mom. I felt completely fine all day until I started thinking about the fact that I felt okay, which made me start thinking I could have one at any minute and...of course I had one five minutes later.
I guess the key to stopping them, at least for me, is to not be afraid of them. I always talk to them in my head and scream "STOP" as loud as I can internally. I won't allow myself to bounce my legs or check my pulse every five seconds, and instead of panicking when I can't breathe I just remind myself it's all the adrenaline. Drinking water with lemon juice and chamomile tea all day helps as well I think. I'm totally removing caffeine from my life, maybe even forever, and I'm trying to avoid doing anything that will raise my heart rate more than a little bit for at least a month. God I hope I'm right and they're going away. I HATE THEM.
