The two  times a year that are climactically tolerable here is the very beginning of spring and the end part of fall,,,other  than that it is a horrible place to be ,,I suppose relatively  speaking winters are a breeze compared to other places like up north or in  the west or midwest ,,but it is a time for colds and flu's and feeling generally in misery...right now I am in misery,,with a nasty flu/cold (had a  flu shot...)hmmm did I write this already ??? can't remember ,,oh well,,,
Christmas eve is tomorrow and for me it is a time of reflection,,..so all in all it has been a reasonably good year ,,,turns out,,where  there are deficits going there are also some assets present as well,,,,so there is a balance and you can't do much better than that I think in  the long run,,
I seem to have made several friends along the way this year ,,,and others appear to have drifted away,,,,I have tried to re-connect with the world (job, relationships, things like that ,,and that has proved to be again a non-starter)...It's complicated !!!!..Headed it seems full tilt into 2013. Come January 1, I should know in which direction I should be headed at least in  the short  term,,,we'll see then,

Here are my wishes for a speedy recovery! Someone is always ill at the holidays, it seems. In my family typically either my twin brother or I are sick at our birthday and the other gets it as an extra Christmas present. This year we seem blessed... we were well for our birthday and Christmas seems to have given the present to our 78 year old mother. Poor mom.

There are always blessings and regrets. For me Christmas is bittersweet. My grandson will be 6 tomorrow, on Christmas Eve. My daughter who died at 7 months old was born on Christmas. I am 3500 miles from family. But I have a family that adopted me and I spent my holidays with them.

I started the year without a job. Then found a full time one for 5 weeks before being laid off again. Now I work a part time job and when unemployment stops if I do not have enough hours to make it financially on just the job (who knows!) then the cycle of deciding what to do starts all over again.

But no matter what happens I count more blessings than anything. One of those is becoming acquainted with you and learning to listen to different points of view. I wish you much happiness and success in 2013, my friend. And you now have an adorable companion! I love the pictures! And I still salivate when I see your muffin pictures!

Merry Christmas. I know the New Year will bring challenges but it offers a lot of brightness, too. Remember that!
