Ahhhh, the continued happiness sinking into a comfy padded chair........for makers of delightful chairs everywhere THANK YOU!
Have a veggie casserole in the oven.....cleaned out the frig of ??? leftovers......trash to garage, tidied bedroom and kitchen. Feels pretty good, but I'm so sore. My sinuses right now hurt less than usual, still sneeezing a lot and using more than my share of kleenex....and the body pain is not nice at all. Relief would be good, I got some dollar store max strength Mucinex the other day, will take two in a bit and feel a measure of better.
I'm watching movies like Juanita....another one with Bryan Cranston and Jennifer Garner based on a story by Doctorow....think that's his last name. An odd bit of cinema......Bryan plays the part of Mr. Wakefield, a successful businessman married to the lovely Mrs. Wakefield (Garner)...they have twin teen age daughters. This couple has their ups ands downs but overall appear to be making the American Dream work and work well. Then one day Mr. Wakefield goes into the attic over the unattached double garage out back and never comes back out for a very long time. To the world he has simply vanished.....with a variety of ideas about him flourishing....but day after day he stays in this hidey hole of a place observing his family through the windows and adding a pair of binoculars for added intensity of detail. It's a very strange bit to watch, not overly exciting, but the thought of what he has done, is doing to himself, his family......his life is thought provoking. I watched the whole thing but didn't really like it, I think this story is better served in print, not on film. That way you could better place yourself in his, her or his daughters shoes.
Juanita is a woman making $12.25 an hour cleaning up other people's messes in a hospital situation. Her kids are driving her mad......her daughter is jobless, has a child and does little to further her life beyond dressing up and partying on her mother's limited dimes. One son is in prison, the other seems to be trying his best to get in that same prison life.....and Juanita is fed up.
She buys a bus ticket and ends up in Paper Moon, Montana.....it's pretty interesting to think about, to just chuck your life as you know it and create a new one in a place totally unfamiliar to what you know. I don't think I'd point at a dot on the map and just go, knowing me I'd research it on the computer for a good while and then end up thinking this is better than that.........but the idea excites me nonetheless.
It is a damp semi foggy day. The house looks nice, Stella came and made everything lovely. She takes good care of Sparrow Cottage and brings a wonderful bit of joy to my day when she comes! She is going with a group of friends to New Orleans for St. Patrick's Day. They plan to go to the St. Paddy's Day Parade......I encouraged her to try some of their chicory coffee and fresh beignets while there. I showed her info on The Commander's Palace, a longtime restaurant.......with ooo la la food at ooo la la prices.....I hope she has a great time.....can't wait to see her pictures. She is generous sharing her trips with me and I love hearing about her fun!
I'm giving the casserole a few more minutes, want it to become more golden on top, this time I used quesadilla cheese ....hope I like it! Can't see any reason why not!
Hang in there.......pray for me and know I pray in care of you daily! xoxooxxo, your pal
