Been watching a lot of BBC stuff,,,the 21century is a wonderful time to be here ,,,I used to dream of this back in the 1970's and never in my wildest imagine think that it could happen in my lifetime ,,,,what an age !!!!..there is no way I could even contemplate what the world will look like in fifty or a hundred years ,,,it is too far out of my imagination,,,my father told me a story years ago in the late or middle 60's of going to the naval data center in NY and going in a room occupied by engineers from IBM and other companies working over mainframes that took up entire floors ,,and all that computing power and more is now sitting on my desktop as I type this...it is staggering to consider,,,,
Onto other things ,,the U/C benefits are terminating for EVERYONE at the end of this December ,,no matter where you are at in the U/C process,,,which is going to be a very very scary place to be at the end of this month,,for everybody who is currently collecting ...unless the fiscal cliff is attended to by then and this is part of it ,,,there will be hell to pay on the first of the year ,,,
My State office sent me a letter to offically inform me of where all this now stands ,,,I have other funds and since I am retired it is just something of an inconvenience ,,but for others it becomes a VERY SERIOUS life altering issue,,, It is going to get pretty ugly very quickly, unless something happens before Dec 31st..
Obama-care kicks in Jan of 2012,,and it will be a great thing for everyone ,,,I am in a small piece of it right now ,,,and it is good thing with good coverage,,,I have few if any complaints ,,the premiums I pay are far less that what a commercial provider would charge ,,,I have a pre-existing condition,,,Americans have been fed a whopper of a lie ,,,as far as I am concerned ,,,

I have a pre-existing condition. I can get insurance now but it\'s not affordable. I just make bills as it is. I have no money to give to health care coverage, no matter HOW good it is. When it is required of me I will have to either give up eating or having a place to live. Requiring it is good only if you can afford it. Unless it\'s free, and not even state health care is free, I am up the creek. Do I want health insurance? Of course! But I will have to give up something major (like my house) to afford it. I have no savings account or retirement to help me come up with the money. And if I have to borrow it from my mother, I might as well give up my house and go live with her. Or maybe I can just go to jail and the government can provide ALL my needs. That\'s what they\'re heading towards anyway.
I am glad it works for you. It doesn\'t work for the working poor, of which I am one. It is cheaper to own my house than rent around here. But because of that I can\'t get access to affordable health care, even under the president\'s plan.
My saving grace is that with my health I probably won\'t have to live under this \"tax\" for very long. I worry for my grandson.
