Update
Well, a long time between journals, I see.
We are being kept busy with medical appointments - what an exciting life we lead !!! Lol cI actually worked a couple of weeks ago.- Monday and Tuesday, then had a medical appointment on the Thursday. Two days in a row was about my limit. I was so tired on the Wednesday. However, I taught again on the Friday of that week. The extra money was nice but then we paid out $700 to have a flipping palm tree cut down. It had been annoying me more than Graham. lol It was so tall and did nothing except drop fronds when they died. You know even one day a fortnight would be good, moneywise, but I haven't been called since then so have to make the most of it when I can..
We had sad news last week. Our daughter's good friend and work colleague had a phone call from her sister in England (they're Irish) to say her husband had died while she'd taken the kids to school. He was only 39 with two under 6 year old boys and his wife is 14 weeks pregnant with a high risk pregnancy. Life is so cruel, sometimes.
Our daughter's friend, her husband and 7 year old daughter are flying to Ireland tomorrow for the funeral. I only found out, yesterday, that they were in great need of someone to look after their 14 week old puppy - a Jack Russell. They couldn't put her into a boarding kennel because she's not old enough to have had certain vaccinations so we're having her for 10 days or it may be longer. Our daughter picked her up and brought her over tonight. I'm pretty excited as it's 10 years since our little dog died (she was 17 years old). I think it will be gorgeous to have a puppy running around the backyard. I just hope she doesn't miss her family too much.
I hope all of my US friends have been able to relax and enjoy the long weekend. Our Labour Day long weekend is the first weekend in October, also the start of Daylight Saving here and the official beginning of the surfing season. Our Fathers' Day was on Sunday. We went to one daughter's place for lunch and then we called in at our other daughter's for afternoon tea - all in all, a nice day for my husband. The boys bought him a coffee cup from the football team he follows - their idea- and could hardly wait to give it to him. They were so excited.
I think I've now brought you up-to-date on what's been happening here. The warmer weather is fast approaching, thank goodness. I don't like the cold weather at all and I know our Winter is very mild compared to the Northern Hemisphere.

Wow you are a busy girl.... so sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter\'s friend, prayers to that family.
So, the ct scan? are they saying you need another biopsy? confused there, prayers that all has a good outcome my friend... have a lovely week with that puppy you are sitting, they are such fun.. luv & hugs Annette
Dear Angel, It is nice to get an update from you. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I could understand how that medical report would be worrysome...but, as your doctor said, the biopsy would tell certainly if there were cancer cells in your tissue. I hope that will be the last scare you will ever have about your health. I\'m glad warmer weather is coming your way...fall is in the air here and in a way, I am looking forward to the change too. We are reaching the end of summer here in California. I always love it when it begins to cool off after hovering around 100 deg F for these hot, summer days.
I hope everyone does well and life improves.
I had all of our tall trees cut down about 12 years ago and now only have crape myrtles in the front and fruit trees out back. I remember the liquid amber and the mess every year of those \'poky balls\' that it would drop. I\'m glad it is gone.

Like the others all said...I\'m very glad to hear from you. It\'s really sad news about your daughter\'s friend\'s husband. Too too young! You are very sweet to care for the little pup, and fall in love with it. I will be praying that your biopsy turns up nothing, and that no treatment will be required. Those nail infections are awful. Is it painful? Enjoy the warmer weather, Hon, and take care of yourself.

Look at all these replies - feel loved? That is an awful tragedy re that 39 year old man and lovely you could step in for the dog. I would think being your pet would be a pretty good life. Dog may not want to go back home....
We have our remaining farm dog living here now. Very arthritic and Phil always said he knew what state I was in by the dog\'s behaviour. You definitely get better treatment in Oz than here in NZ. It must be two years since I actually got to see my state rheumy! Just go to the nurse and they call me in remission as my bloods come back ok. Grrr. At the moment think I need steroid injection in a couple of hand joints and very flared there.. Wouldnt have been able to type yesterday arvo/evening but it is sunny and lovely out so that is helping today. Overslept this morning and awoke at 8.17. Was supposed to be picking someone up for scrabble a five min drive away at 8.30. Quick call and rushed toast and only ten minutes late so we made it!!
Great re work. I totally given up ages ago though had a call last year but didnt go. Lady Of Pleasure me... Just back from Samoa. Wow what a lovely place! Took my girls for a Girls Escape. Oldest in danger of getting RA - severe Raynauds and unhelpful bloods re autoimmune. Plus awaiting knee and wisdom tooth op and youngest still a student so no loot for trips.
Not really a comment - more an update for you and whoever reads.

t I am having cataract surgery on both eyes in October, originally 5 - 6 years away but accelerated by RA drugs.

Angel , After My dad has his , he said the colors were so much brighter and he could see the fly on the tree on the mountain now lol. Just think how much the brighter every thing will look once your done . At least they do one eye at at time :) Gail
