Tomorrow
Here I am rambling again!
Tomorrow I will turn 70. I can't believe that I have reached this age!!! I really don't mind getting old. I just don't like the aches and pains that accompany the aging process.
My birthdays make me sad. Lisa always remembered and made sure that everyone else remembered. Joe is not a party person so we will celebrate by going to a play in the afternoon and to a seafood restaurant after.
My friend Lorraine is coming with us tomorrow. She has had a stressful week. Her dad's memory has deteriorated. She has been concerned for a while because he has signs of fairly significant dementia. On Wednesday, she got a call from her mother. Her dad became angry and attacked her mom. When Lorraine got there, she called the police and EMS. Her dad was very angry with her - said that all she wanted was his money. She is a very strong person. She didn't get angry but 'put her health care hat on' and talked to the EMS and police as a professional. They took both her mom and dad to the Emergency Department (her mom's blood pressure was very high). Her mom was discharged and her dad was sent to a unit to be assessed. In the meantime, they have found a seniors' facility where her mom will live, and if her dad gets stabilized, he will go there too.
Cevyn called again. She is realizing that we really do care about her and love her unconditionally. She is working like mad and learning to manage money (a little late but better late than never). She starts school on Tuesday. I hope all goes well.
She is still planning to move to Alberta in the spring. I would be over the moon.
Enough rambling. I am so thankful that I can come here and say what I am thinking and how I feel.
Lisa: Birthdays are so sad without you. I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

Hi Marlene, happy birthday! So glad you had a good time but of course you miss your girl on these occasions. Lisa made your birthdays special, didn\'t she?
Wouldn\'t that be wonderful if Ceyvn moved close by! Much love, Linda
Sorry I missed your birthday but wish you a genuine happy birthday anyway! Glad you felt special because you are! It is so difficult dealing with aging parents, you poor friend. Sending you love, Leda
I am quite okay with people missing my birthday! I have given up trying to remember - I am good at Cevyn\'s, Andrew\'s, Joe\'s and of course Lisa\'s. And that is about it. I only mentioned it because I write what is on my mind and that is what was on my mind when I wrote the journal.
