Green Smiley Monday
It is Monday again. The time seems to fly. I have been trying to get fit again. I have walked almost every day for the last few weeks. My walks almost always end with the climb up the hill to our condo. I am always out of breath when i get to the top. I wondered why it wasn't getting a lot easier. Then it occurred to me - as I get fitter, I walk faster! Duh...
I thought I would have some down time when our Neighbourfest was over. Not so much. Now we are starting a community initiative - a traveling coffee table - we have a folding table, some chairs and we are going to park ourselves where people are, offer them a coffee and chat. The goal is to promote a sense of community. We are in a bit of a hurry as the weather is cooling off. I think it will be coffee and hot chocolate!
Teri's journal got me thinking. I am so glad that she have evolved - she is embracing life. I don't think I am there yet. I do embrace life. But I miss Lisa so much that I still have a little cry almost daily. I am trying to live the life I think Lisa would want for me. She used to tease me about going back to work each time I came back from teaching overseas. She knew I had to stay busy. So now I am still busy but doing things I enjoy; though I must admit, I enjoyed my job working with elderly residents and their caregivers. I loved the challenge! It is too stressful now though.
A very green smiley is a lunch I had with a friend and former colleague. She finally shared with me that she is in a relationship. She said she was embarrassed as she feels like a teenager agaiin! I still smile when I think of the smile on her face! She has been on her own for 30 years!! I just kept saying "I am so happy for you". Her friend is a retired maintenance man who worked at one of the facilities I filled in at. She asked him if he knew me. He said "Yes, she is the one who turned the place around". I often wonder if I really made a difference. He said it was chaotic when I got there. I guess I did make a difference. Can you imagine, I still have insecurities!
Lisa - Your motto was "Live Laugh Love". I am working on it. I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

The traveling coffee table is neat idea. On my street beer would work (such a rednck area lol ). My grand daughters think hot coco is coffee (it is their version)
You have kept me going so I am one of the people you have kept afloat. Mike is being sent to one of the big University hospitalist in neurology, I just don\'t know which campus Gainsville (main campus) or the Jacksonvile campus. I should here sometime next week.
Big Hugs
