Green Smiley Monday
I have a few things to smile about.
This past weekend, we went to Edmonton to visit our son and DIL. On Saturday I went shopping with Tiina and her two nieces - aged 14 and 15. We had fun visiting a goth store, a comic shop, a costume store and a gift shop that is going out of business. We stopped for some decadent desserts - it was a day Lisa would have loved. I did feel that she was with us.
Then Joe and Tiina spent the evening hanging paintings (their living room looks like an art gallery). Andrew and Tiina are both very artistic and have friends who are artists. This is the second round of picture hanging and judging by the number of pictures left, they have at least one more hanging session.
Yesterday, we all spent the day cleaning up flower beds and attacking dandelions in their lawn. The rain let us know when it was time to stop.
Then off to Red Deer for dinner with friends, and home by 10. It was just a nice weekend.
We had a scare a couple of weeks ago. My friend Lorraine had a chest Xray as it was almost a year since her lung operation. They saw a shadow so sent her for an MRI. We were so relieved to find out it was negative. On the day of her 1st cancer free anniversary, we went to the zoo. Lisa was definitely at work that day. Lorraine had a very old zoo pass and went looking for it. She was getting frustrated when she knocked over a box of cards. One was Lisa's funeral card. It landed face up. She said "Lisa, I need your help". I guess Lisa was facing the pass! Then at the zoo, Lisa did her thing again. Just inside the gate is a penguin feature. Two of them were very amorous. Then we kept seeing peacocks (not very unusual). It was when we sat down for a snack and watched a male strutting around with feathers unfurled, trying to attract a very uninterested pea hen! The whole afternoon was a bit bizarre - we just laughed and laughed. We both agreed that Lisa was celebrating with us.
One last thing: we booked a trip to India in February!

we also had a trip to the zoo... the peacocks were walking around and little Ari called them teacups!! love ya!
India??? Oh that is so awesome Marlene!!! Please tell us more about it!!! I am so jealous!!! You already live in Canada...( I am a big Michael Moore fan so I have learned to love Canada thru his movies)...Cassi loved Canada as well, went 3 times. We even looked into migrating...turns out gaining citizenship isn\'t easy, lol. You are so cool Marlene!!!

Canada is a beautiful place to visit, as well. Sam (my late husband) and I took a month long vacation one year and went to Canada. Visited Colorado, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Wy, Glacier state parkand Baniff Canada. It was my favorite vacation of all time. Fields full of yellow flowers, when we first crossed over the border, into Canada. Smelled like a perfume factory ! We went out on a glacier, in one of those special busses, whose wheels looked about thirty feet tall, lol. Saw milk river, with the white water, Lake Louise, the list goes on and on. You are so lucky, to live in such a beautiful place. I would love to go back some day :)

A wonderful weekend and oh, how those peacocks can strut their stuff. LOL!
Knowing that Lisa is always helping when she can and what a wonderful trip to look forward to. You must be so excited and of course half the fun is in the planning.

As long as I\'m living my baby you\'ll be... That is what went through my mind when I read your \"message\" to Lisa. I allow myself that luxury quite often... So often when I read and write journals and comments I can almost see our children and of course I see Cara all the time in my mind\'s eye... and so when I want to reach out and talk to her... I do... We are connected my child and I.... I am so glad it is so for all of us... Hugs Elissa
