Update
We are in Dorchester - our second last day in England. We head for France on Sunday.
We visited Plymouth this afternoon and saw the steps where the pilgrims went down to board the Mayflower. The Cornish coast is quite phenomenal. We will go to a couple more coastal towns before heading towards London.
We are about full of fish and chips, and Cornish Cream Teas. It is a good thing we do walking and climbing in between meals.
I had a weepy time this afternoon. I kept thinking that I was seeing these beautiful sites and Lisa and Susan can't enjoy them. It made me wonder why me - why do I get to do these wonderful things and the people I cherish the most, can't? My mother would have loved to travel but only got to see half of Canada. Lisa visited Britain but I know she wanted to go to Finland and see where her Finnish ancestors came from. We though we had time to take that trip together.
I know Lisa would be happy to know that Cevyn loves to travel.
I talked to Cevyn (Thank you Skype) tonight. We got talking about travel. She and a friend are talking about doing a European trip after grad. I still would like to take her to Cambodia to see the house that she and Lisa fundraised for. It has a plaque with a memorial to Lisa.
I sometimes think that Cevyn has put her mom to the sidelines (I know she won't forget her) but I was so happy to hear a comment she made. Lisa and Harvey's mom planted a circular flower garden in front of their house the summer before Marylou dies (she had rectal cancer and died at age 52). My friend Barbara and I insisted that Lisa and Marylou's garden be kept planted so we weeded and bought some perennials and planted them and put up 2 solar lights - one for Lisa and one for Harvey's mother. It was too late to plant sunflowers (which Lisa had in the center - she loved sunflowers) so we put in other plants. Well today, Cevyn said that she requested sunflowers be put there because "Mum liked them and so do I so that is a bonus". I often referred to it as Lisa and Marylou's garden so I think she is carrying on the tradition. She is 15 so isn't in to gardening but she is expressing her wishes and it sounds like Beth and Harvey are listening.
Lisa: I had a sad afternoon - wishing that you and Susan could have been with us in body. I do believe that you were with us but Damn, it just is not the same. You would have loved to funny names of the villages we passed. I miss you always and love you forever, Mom

Marlene have a wonderful time in France. You know Lisa is with you every minute, but I sure do understand about wanting to share the experience with her in the flesh. All of life for us has that gloom of wanting our children with us and that will never change no matter where we are or what we are doing. Love to you and your family and especially Lisa. Terry
Love to hear about your travels in my country - fish an\' chips, and cornish teas - although I appreciate that more since I am away, of course!! Hope you had some Cornish ice cream, too. We never know what we have until we don\'t....in every way.
How great thay Cevyn ( I know I have told you before, prob. several times - but I do love that name...I bet it means to seek travel!!..) is going to do some foreign trips after graduation. I think travel abroad is one of the best forms of education....to step outside your borders and see that there is another way of living. Anyways, I am glad you have her - and she has you.

It sounds like a wonderful trip my friend. I totally understand your sadness when I went to Italy I so badly wanted Anthony by my side. It was one of his dreams to travel and explore the worked. I am so happy Cevyn added the sunflowers. Safe travels home my friend.

Continued safe travels my friend. Oh, didn\'t we all think that we had \"time?\" It hurts, I know to not be sharing this with Lisa and your loved ones in the way that you dreamed and hoped you would.
