Friends

I am on a neighborhood committee to promote safety in our community. We live in a condo across the river from the city center so have interesting inner city homeless people and drug users and dealers on our street and in the wooded area in front of our condo. Improving the safety is a big issue and our committee has been quite successful. We have an increased police presence and the parks people go through the wooded area and move the squatters out. We wouldn't mind having the homeless in our area but we have had people attacked.
Our committee has become very close.  We have the most interesting meetings, complete with pizza and red wine.  Tonight we met at a pub.  The meeting was 4 hours long - well one hour and then visiting for the remaining 3 hours.  We have become close friends.  I felt so cared for this evening especially by Leslie, a wonderful woman who is  so compassionate.  Although she has no children, she just has a way of showing her genuine caring.  She admits that she could never know how I feel but can only imagine how her mother would feel if she died. I felt surrounded with love.  We all feel so fortunate to have found each other.
Life has been good to us today.  I feel fortunate in a lot of ways. Although I will never be 'over it', I can enjoy life.
My sweet Lisa:  I miss you always and love you forever.

I am so happy for what you feel today! And you encourage me to get out there and BE with others. Enough cocooning!

Sounds like a good meeting and and social time. What a difference a group of people can make in a community when they care about others. Thanks for thinking of those less fortunate. It\'s refreshing to know that people just don\'t turn a blind eye. So glad to hear that life has been good today. Continue to enjoy. Much love. Robin

More power to you - I am so glad you have connected with some-one so caring. I\'m sure the feeling is mutual! Although we can never stop missing and grieving for what we have lost, it is always good to embrace and enjoy a nice day when it pops up. Hugs for you and your sweet Lisa ~ Joanna

To be involved in this way and give back... such a gift you are giving and receiving too. Happy for the companionship and the tender words from your friend\'s heart. I like how she said that trying to imagine how her mother would feel without her, helps her to understand how you might be feeling... That is very powerful.

Loving care,
Joanie
