Green Smiley Monday

It is sort of a green smiley Monday.
We are in Edmonton for a Christmas get together with our son and DIL. Instead of turkey, we went out for a seafood dinner. We are going to Ottawa in a week and a bit.  Andrew and Tiina will spend Christmas with her family this year.
I am relieved because A&T have put their house on the market.  They love the house, as do I.  It is an old house on a large wooded lot.  Unfortunately the house is a money pit. And they don't have the kind of money to repair it.  The repairs would require gutting it and fixing the foundation.  The cost would be prohibitive.  The property is quite valuable so selling it should give them enough money to buy a newer house that doesn't require work.  Both Andrew and Tiina are very artistic but not handy!
Another green smiley for all of us is a review of Andrew's graphic novel.  His other books have been positively reviewed but this one was a rave.  The graphic novel is called "Done to Death".  I just got a copy of the book so haven't read it yet but it is probably a bit bloody and likely twisted. The cover is definitely bloody!
The best smiley is my Christmas gift from Andrew.  He is a visual artist as well.  He did a painting of Lisa.  It is from a photo of her looking at a candle.  It is beautifully done and makes me cry when I look at it.  I was so touched by it that I got teary eyed.  He misunderstood my response - he thought I didn't like it.  I think I have convinced him that I didn't gush because I was fighting tears.
The downside today is that we had plans to visit Joe's sister Susan.  She called this morning to say that she was not feeling well enough for company.  She is still having chemo every week and is very exhausted.  We are very worried about her.  The prognosis is not good.
It is bedtime so that's all folks!
I wish everyone a great week.
My Precious Lisa:  You would be so proud of your big brother.  Your portrait is beautiful  We miss you so very much.  This was your favorite time of year.  I miss our frenzied last minute shopping trips to pick up treats and stocking gifts.  I will be visiting you to light a candle on Christmas eve.  I love you forever.  Mum

I am overwhelmed by Andrew\'s gift painting of Lisa. Sigh. No wonder you had troubles holding it all in!!! I hope his book is a success. Prayers for Susan in her battle for health. I hope you have a gentle day.
With love,
Leda
