Depression
How is everyone coping with their own personal loss? I have lost too many people in my life to count them all since I was a young child up-to-date. The most recent was my oldest brother last September 1, 2014. There are things that remind me of Don and then I miss him so much. I just learned of an acquaintance that just lost their own dad. Tears could haved flowed from me but I held them in check.
I think with grief comes depression. Our lives have changed through the death that we are coping with in the present. Its not happy changes but changes that were forced on us. It why we get depressed as well as struggle with the grief or they are one and the same.
I know you all can relate to this. Good luck and God bless you in your many many struggles.

I am so sorry that you are suffering so much. Death is a hard thing to deal with. It takes so much away, alters our path, and we can\'t stop it. It\'s like a runaway train.
I didn\'t go through depression with my mother or husband\'s passing. I missed them, but I felt that depression came from the devil. I mean, as a Christian I had been taught the truth about death. So, when my mother passed I saw it as a rebirth. I kept that thought with me constantly, telling the devil to back off whenever he whispered something different. In the early days I had to do this several times a day. I\'d hear others telling me how sorry they were and how hard it must be. I\'d go home and pick up my bible and feel better.
March is the month my husband passed. I spent it watching a show called \"Touched by an Angel\". I stream it for free off Youtube. Another good movie that I just saw is \"God Is Not Dead.\" You can stream this from Netflix and Amazon. Both of these films are uplifting and reminds us that Death does not exist.
I think its more grief than depression. I know Don is in heaven with all those I have lost and with our Lord. I know that in my heart of hearts but I miss him so much. The people closest to me have died. My friends have all moved away. The recent friend moved to White Rock which is close enough to me that I can take the bus. Its okay. I guess I am feeling lost and alone. I know I am not and that our Lord is with me each and every second of every day. I appreciate your uplifting words. Also, I have been babysitting so much that I have not gone to church in the last 2 Sundays including this Sunday. I hope my daughter\'s work schedule allows me to go to church next Sunday.
I\'m still looking for a church. It\'s hard as the church has fallen away from it\'s original mission.
I\'ve made new friends and am going out a lot. I\'ve quit three jobs and finally decided that none of them are worth it and so I work occasionally for temp agencies. It\'s all good.
I have given up on work so am just babyitting my grandkids for free. They give me money once in awhile. My daughters gave me a new bra, underwear and bought me a raincoat which I needed badly. Its all good. Still if there is a job that only pays $500-1000 per month, I havent figured what that would be. I would rather go thru financial struggles than work at a job that I either don\'t like or don\'t like the boss I am working for. It wasn\'t fun in the past. My current situation is okay for now.
Meeting new friends is always ag ood thing. I am open to new friendships that is for sure. You can\'t have enough good people in your life.
My daughter just went back to work at the end of March after maternity leave. She has the mother\'s guilt. At work, guilty she is not with her kids. At home, guilty she is not at work. Its a lose lose position to be in.
Hi Diane,
I was just reading a wonderful uplifting g post by Truhall. By accident I came across you! Or it May not be by accident! My husband passed on to be with The Lord, 3rd July 2014. He fought a tremendously Brave fight with AML Leukemia. I
I know what you mean, the sadness is so overwhelming. Sometimes I can get so discouraged.

I know what you mean, the sadness is so overwhelming. Sometimes I can get so discouraged. I eventually overcome those feelings, with prayer and Bible reading. God\'s grace is infinite. I know as I know as I know.....I will be with my husband, Ben again. I know there is no marriage in Heaven, but God is in control, His ways are perfect.
I truly hope and pray, you are beginning to lift from those depressed feelings...
It is normal for us to be sad and have days if sorrow, that is why it!s important to have good friends to encourage each other.
Hugs ......Sandra
By the way.....I spend a lot of time babysitting also..I think that\'s a precious wonderful thing you do for your daughter and grandchildren :)
