Green Smiley Monday

Today I am grateful for faith. I was thinking about Kelsey and her brief life on Earth. I went to church yesterday and one of the hymns was "Amazing Grace", which is the hymn I think about when I feel a connection to Kelsey. Only twice since I have gone to this church - 2 years - have we sang this particular hymn. Once was right after Kelsey died and this past Sunday - the Sunday after her angel date.
I thank God for the healing He has been doing in me. My losing my son Ed two and a half years ago made me feel like I was done..just done. But at this point I do have many peaceful days. I am a work in progress and healing. Always missing Ed but healing from the trauma of loss.
For new moms - you will heal too. Have faith in God, your higher power and in your sisters who are further along in this journey. Have faith in love...because you and your child/children are loved here.

Amen! At two and a half years I can add my voice of encouragement to yours ~ faith, patience, hope, promise ~ these will carry the new Moms through the darkest early days to a new \"normal\" of days filled with blessings, comfort and even joy.

\"Amazing Grace\" rings in my soul always ~ one of the most beautiful hymns ever, so full of God\'s promise to each and every one of us.

Sending much love and big hugs of continued healing to you and angel hugs to wonderful Ed ~ Debbie

Amazing Grace says so very much.....and it is always the LOVE that is core to the hymns we cling to. I think of the suffering Kelsey and her family have had to endure and am grateful that there is a Heaven to go to after this life of trials. I, too, feel that growth in healing even though the pain is there...it is no longer the intense awful pain that it was....pain does have degrees. I am glad you are feeling the healing.........love and lots of brandon bear hugs for you dear friend....and to sweet and wonderful Ed....dale, brandon\'s mom

It was the testimony of so many mothers and the affirmation by both my therapists (experienced in suicide survivors and psychosis that took my child) that kept me alive the first months after her crossing. I couldn\'t imagine living the rest of my life in such incredible, mind bending and constant pain. They all kept reassuring me it would \"change\", get \"gentler\". With God\'s help, it is. I can\'t imagine feeling \"joy\" for any sustained period, nor can I imagine being free of the depth of sorrow I still feel if I allow it, but I have the assurance of God that this, too, shall pass. Thank you all for your loving support of me, of one another. You will be repaid many times over for this.

As some know - my sister just passed on Alex\'s Angel day - UGH! Her service was held in a small rural church in NC in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The Church grounds were big and many people attended. During, the service - I thought my \"weary\" mind was playing tricks on me - because every now and again - I could hear a bagpipe playing \"Amazing Grace\". And, to my amazement when we went outside for the interment - there in the distance was a lone bagpiper and he was indeed playing \"Amazing Grace\" And, it was a comfort then as it is now, in remembrance. I am very familar with the hyme Amazing Grace, I requested this hyme to be played at my son Jesse\'s funeral almost 12 years ago on August 14, 2000 he was violently murdered, juctice was served, the two brothers who took his life away were sentenced for natural life, no possibility of parole and 25 years for weapons and conspiracy. Although I will never find any justice ever with the death of my 22 yr. old son Jesse. Then this past July 6th 2011 my 23 yr. old son Justin passed away to a prescription drug adverse reaction and once again the glorious sound of the Amazing Grace filled the church. Only 2 weeks ago my mother who declined with her cancer passed away in my arms, right after i held her and rubbed her back telling her with a soft voice that to please tell Justin and Jesse I love and miss them and to save a spot for me and to look out for me until then, she took a sigh and died. within that week in the same church the Amazing Grace was played and all I could do was wipe the tear drops off that ran down my face... Amazing Grace and Ave Maria are my two favorite church hymes. May God bless you, Debbie

Beautiful journal! What a hopeful message to new moms. Yes, you will heal. Amazing grace is just that. It never ceases to amaze me how it seems not so very long ago that others were telling me I would heal and it seemed so impossible, but I did. 3+ years now. Hugs, Belinda

Linda a peaceful day is what I long for most now. Grieving does take a long time, after one year now I am having some peaceful times, a little here and there, and I know it will happen that my days will be filled with peace in my heart some day. Little by little day by day. I\'m sending you prayers for you and many sweet wonderful dreams of your precious son Ed. Terry
