Hate
Hate is an emotion, some say the most passionate emotion, that we are all tempted to feel at times, to allow ourselves to succumb to.
But before deciding to allow yourself to plunge into that pitfall, consider this:
Hate is an emotion of cowards. It's easy to hate those who have betrayed or forsaken you. It's much easier to shut that door to your heart with a hateful thud than to open it and allow the possibilities of love and well-being to flow through. God could have chosen to hate us as sinners. Instead, he bravely sent his own Son to die on the cross for us, eliminating that barrier of hate that could have separated us from the Kingdom of Heaven for eternity. Hate was never a factor; in God''s mind; love and forgiveness for his own creation which had forsaken him were his only motives.
Hate is an emotional cop-out. It's easier to say that you hate someone rather than to take the time to understand that person. Whether or not you agree with that person(s), once you have come to understand them and their motives, you can form the bond of empathy, much more righteous in the eyes of God.
Hate is much easier than to love. To hate means that you deem yourself on a higher pedestal than others, seeing yourself as righteous in each situation. And by turning your heart from love, placing yourself on that pedestal, you are making yourself a graven image. In other words, you are making yourself higher than God. God does not hate; he deserves that pedestal. And God is the vessel of love; if you hold yourself higher than him, how can you expect his love and forgiveness? He loves you despite the fact that you are a sinner. Period.
Hate ranks with the devil's emotions, alongside jealousy and bitterness. Hate is the devil's design to separate us from the beauties the world has to experience. The devil wants our hearts to be filled with hate, that's why he's made it so easy to do so. By filling our hearts with hatred, it leaves no room for any means of caring, love or compassion.
Hate is like a stingy weed. It grows, whether or not you choose to nurture or neglect it. Until you eradicate it from your heart, it will continue to spread to the point of no return. Once it has taken over completely, there will be no way to decimate it; by doing so, you will be killing your own heart.
Hate will eventually consume you, making you one with it--unless you stop it dead in it's destructive tracks.
If you believe your heart is already consumed, it can change. The process may feel like you are going to die, but like a mother going through 30 hours of grueling labor, you can reap the rewards at the end of the line--love, compassion and empathy.

All we need is love.
LOL! Amen, sister!
Heart, this is amazing. Consider starting a thread with this. It\'s so encouraging and real! Seems I agree with this on all points.
Consider also...anger is a cop out. So many of us get stuck in anger when we are really just covering up our hurt, our pain, our fear...At least that is my opinion.
I do love this and thanks for sharing it...L~
I am not sure anymore what I feel for my ex-bf who wronged me. Is it hate? Maybe...maybe not anymore. All I know is I want NOTHING to do with him ever. I never want to speak or see that man again. As far as I am concerned, he no longer exists. No contact begins in my head. I think hating people who wronged us is giving them too much time and attention and they are so not worth it. I prefer ignoring their existence. That\'s just me. :)
