Tomorrow I'll be 14 weeks... I was just realizing how fast this is all going along. My next doctors appointment is on October 16th, and I'll be 17 weeks and 3 days.... That means he'll schedule me in for a sonogram to see what I'm having!! I'm so freaking excited I can barely take it. I started a "diet" today. When I got pregnant with Nickolus I was at my smallest, I probably weighed about 160 lbs. and wore a size 5 (I'm extremely thick and muscular so 160 is actually very tiny for my build). I also wasn't making the  best lifestyle choices I could have made, but that's neither here nor there. I got depressed after finding out I was pregnant because Michael wanted nothing to do with me and I gained a lot of weight in the first 2 months. Around my 4th or 5th months of pregnancy I got into some trouble with my probation and had to go to rehab (I wasn't using drugs but chose this route to avoid going back to jail..) and there I had no choice about what I ate and gained even more weight. Long story short, I gained about 80 lbs. in my first pregnancy. I lost about maybe 30 lbs. after having Nickolus at my 6 week checkup, but never lost anything else after that and didn't really care. I was happy. Then he passed.. and my weight has really fluctuated since then. I started to loose weight, then I'd gain it back and more from depression and pigging out. So my doctors appointment last week I asked what I need to do to keep up minimal weight gain (he was happy that I gained nothing in the 4 weeks we hadn't seen eachother), and he told me to stay away from carbs. Something I know all about because I've done the atkins diet before and that works for my body type for whatever reason. I know I can't do something that substantial but, I need to do what I can to keep myself from being 300 lbs. when I give birth. Today I've done really good. I woke up too late for breakfast but I had a turkey sandwich on whole weat and some grapes.. Then a snack of some french cut green beans... and only water today. Pretty good, huh? I'm going to get my dog a harness and leash today to take him with me on walks to start exercising some. I am just starting to feel really good about all this!

That is awesome!! I need to talk to my doctor about doing the same thing because I don\'t want to be as big as the fridge by the time the baby gets here!

That is a great idea to get some exercise. I am just like you, I don\'t look like I weigh as much as I do, pretty muscular myself. So a diet that IS good for you while you are pregnant would be the South Beach diet. It cuts out the \'BAD\' carbs but you still are allowed carbs because your baby needs them and so do you while you are pregnant. They sell the book in all bookstores and I lost 70lbs after having my first daughter on the diet and never gained it back. Just thought it might help, they found out about it on accident for people with diabetes and heart conditions.
