Made 3 trips to Baton Rouge about a job. THREE trips within a week. First trip was for interview. Second trip was for paperwork: drug test, fingerprints, background stuff to complete. Third trip was because the machine didnt work and they needed to re-do my fingerprints. Also I had dropped my license and they had it. Plus they needed my SS card and I had to bring back the background thing. all of this right after a wasted trip to Lafayette-they merely promoted from within which I kind of expected.
Job in BR is a good job. Not high level, but starts at a higher pay than usual because they have trouble filling the position. Its a state job. Pay is not that much less than I was making here.
Ever try to remember every place you lived or worked...since you were 18? lolol
Anyway, the offer is dependent on me making it through all the red tape stuff. We lived in BR before we moved here, so I am somewhat familiar with it. There are some ghosts there but not as many as there are here.
So, just waiting. Odd thing is that from the minute they first contacted me, there has been one thing after another. problems I had to deal with in order to go down there. Things that just popped up. I really didnt and still dont have a peace about this job, though it seems perfect for me. But right now, I'm not trusting my "feelings" to be on target.
