1 Positive, 1 Negative
So I don't know if I should start with the positive or negative... I want to end with a positive to end feeling somewhat optimistic. But to get to the negative I must talk about the positive. Hmmm.... ok well...
Positive:
I met a friend here on DS who is amazing, everyone please give him your best wishes.... he told me about a summer program at an art school. I looked into it and will apply for the Creative Writing department, I told a cousin and a friend who also want to do it. So I was very excited just knowing that I'm going to apply. I was so excited that I had a hard time going to sleep and I woke up early. That's how excited I was I was so so happy, it was one o those "nothing can get me down 'm at the top of the world" kind of happiness.
Negative:
So I figured I should tell my ex, since just the day before he told came up to me because he'd seen me sad and wanted to make sure I was ok. So I told him because I wanted him to know some good news. He said it was great, and then told me he asked my cousin on a date and wanted to make sure I was ok with it. I went from high to low in a second. I didn't let myself cry over it for more than 10 seconds because I told myself it wasn't worth it. I know that with him asking out my cousin, there'd be family drama. So I decided that a good way to avoid it would be to forget about him and try to move on. It's going to be hard, but I feel like if I don't try to move on I'll get hurt more. And forgetting about him will be like a defense mechanism.
Am I doing the right thing?

your ex dating your cousin what a kick in the teeth that is, he should have more respect for you and your feelings and your cousin should back you up and refuse to date him. (never let a guy come between family as it never works) You need time to heal and he obviously has no respect for this. I would suggest talking to your cousin and making clear your feelings and ask her whos side is your cousin on. You are so strong for sharing this and looking for a solution. Keep going as you can get through this.
I\'m just done with him and I don\'t care anymore. As long as they don\'t interfere with me and my life then I won\'t let them be a problem to me. Thanks for the support!
