1.2 cents worth.
I just wiggled my bolts and it tuckered me out. doing a small happy dance in my chair........Sara got a job at a country club starting on Tuesday.........so now she has what she calls a "real job" as well as her "unreal job" redoing a restaurant. don't know how one will impact the other, but she sounds very glad and i am glad for her.
the world goes round and round and round........and the planet spins.
bruce did a great job on the yard and bonus he rolled up the big heavy water hoses and stored them in the garage. i can drag them around but i can't roll 'em.......he edged the ivy beds and it looks so good. he just got a new customer out my way........the next road over which is a blessing.
if Indian Summer gets tired soon, it may find me going to the nursery one more time. thinking to try some bermuda grass on those bald spots. we tried the other kind and the results were real sketchy. our neighborhood goes through ups and downs with the economy. the house next door has been abandoned for months now. two more on the main road coming into the neighborhood. you see piles of misc everything near the garage doors and on the side of the homes. it looks so sad........the yards are overgrown and rough looking. the county puts signs on the doors to warn "homeowners to mow" ..........seems like they might have a clue that the properties have been abandoned. I suppose what surprises me is that they aren't any lock boxes or HUD signs on them. Maybe HUD has so many abandoned properties that they simply can't keep up ...................praying for our country, our economy.
For jobs/industry to happen within these United States. Shanghai is putting up a skyscraper every 5 days right now. ................that's a lot of big cranes over Shanghai........China creates product for big countries like the U.S. that the Chinese are not even allowed to buy........but by golly they have the industry of making PRODUCTS and it will boost them as a world power. We used to be like that.......when I moved to Dallas in 1979, there were 21 cranes in the downtown area changing the skyline...............everything was booming, you could feel it.............that every tomorrow was gonna be better.........it was a time of serious growth, expansion and success in our country.
where did this come from ? you got me..........sometimes i think and let some of that thinking out........whoopsy daisy. i've got the tummy rumblies, time to make a meal. let's pray for better........xoxo

Serce, the 70s for me were spent in what was once steel/coal country...everyone unemployed, moving, desperate.... but we still felt the country was making and not just buying, we knew we were smart, educated, determined, together. Yep, I miss it!

I\'d love to have ivy beds. can\'t talk hubby into it, but I love them, especially on embankments so you don\'t have to mow.
yes, the economy is still in the toilet, I don\'t care what the \"news\" says, reality is ... it is still awful! I know many ppl blame Obama, but I think he inherited an awful awful mess and it was too big to fix in 4 years. yes, food stamps were up, but, that\'s economy related. I\'m not sure who I will vote for, but I do know I think everything is a HOT mess! haha
I\'m happy for your daughter. Good for her! Hope you have a sunny weekend. It is supposed to be very rainy hear and hubby is glad b/c it means he can avoid long work hours on the golf course. : )
Glad Sara has her two jobs - many more in the US need work. I have much more I could say but better let it slide for now.
I just encourage all to plan to vote in November. Perhaps the most critical election in the history of the US.
Congrats to Sara on her \"real job\" :). Yes it\'s sad about the economy. My husband was unemployed for 2 times over the pass few yrs. Construction is a hard field to be in right now, but thank the good Lord he\'s working in commercial building with a small company. We have a vacant house next door. The own ripped out all the cabinets, sinks, air conditioner, hot water heat etc. it\'s been empty 3 yrs now. The grass gets so high...hubby called the association of our community & they had 3 guys out here the next day to cut the grass. We get written up if our grass goes without cutting. It\'s sad that our country is doing bad. So many people out of jobs & no health care. It\'s easy for the rich to say things are moving along good. Yeah right!! I pray our country turns it around & soon. I still have hope. Doctors ask us if we are stressed??? What a funny question. Prayers for all my DS friends. We are all in the same boat. Angel hugs
Congratulations to Sara. Bermuda grass sounds like a good idea. Yes, I agree with everyone the economy is in a mess. It must be strange to see neighbors leave and have abandoned homes near yours. I live in an apartment complex where the apartments always have tenants. I lived in a house years ago. Having a yard is lots of work but fun. I am thinking of growing some vegetables in big flower pots.Anyone ever do this?

Way to go, Sara! Glad you have garden help, does he come to Canada? My grass bald spots are horrible.... what\'s bermuda grass? Our economy is better than the US but still alot of folks out of work.
