My friend that I used to work with says we should always pray with thanks! I'm not so sure about that though. What do you all think?
@brighte, what do you think?
Blessings for your guidance,

Your friend is right be thankful when you pray It is Biblical and we MUST obey the Bible or the Word of GOD .
.That is hard to understand but I do no think we should pray :Thanks for this pain I love it but be thankful for all the other blessings Jesus has given you .
Here are 2 Scriptures which support my belief:
2 We give thanks to God always...
1 Thessalonians 1:2 King James Version (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6 King James Version (KJV)
I have never seen a church in my area that hosts an "event" for this.
I think in terms of being thankful, we can thank God for other blessings, and that things are not worse, but mostly for walking with us (or carrying us) through our difficulties. But, since God knows everything (including how we really feel), if we're not feeling thankful we can talk to Him about that and maybe ask Him to help us see items/areas we could be thankful for. If I'm having trouble I remind myself of the fact that the holy God of everything that is, who created it all simply by commanding that it come into being, chooses to love us and hear our prayers and that is something to be thankful for.
I always feel like I should spend hours and hours praying on the NDOP, but I never have before.
So this year I googled what to pray about. Here are 2 links I found:

And

For other ideas I know I could look at the beginnings of Paul's letters to see how he prayed for people, or read the Psalms (many of which are prayers).
But I know that God most wants us to pray from our hearts, which should be increasingly becoming like His heart.
I hope we will all walk in the steps He's ordained for us every day rather than someone else's formula......
Blessings, peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, faithfulness, perseverence, goodness, gentleness, self-control, and undying devotion to our God to us all.
We have so many blessings .We are blessed to simply own a Bible or read it on our computer .
