Uh... Hi.... suddenly I feel like I am standing up at my first AA meeting....
Hi, I'm Jersey... I am from Pa. I have been married for 10 years. I have 2 children in Elemtry school and a step-daughter who will graduate in a yaer and a half.
I used to be very involved in church. I worked as an assistant campus minister and as a youth minister for a few years.
I as always very active and spread my love of Chrsit through serving other people.
My husband was not a Christan. He says he is now, but he is more like a lump than a fire.
I try to teach my kids about G-d, and I try to keep Him holy, but I am lost.
I joined this sight almost a year ago after a move to a new town and a deepening sense of lost..... just lost....
I am mad at G-d. We don't talk any more. I used to talk to him every day - 5-6-10 times a day. We were friends. He was callng me to be a bigger part of His church.
Then the big trials started, and with my husband being a non-beiever at the time, and my family hating me, I just got more beat up and no support. After years of that - I totally lost my faith.
Let me correct myself. I know He is still there. There is nothing that can convince me He does exist... I was a scientist for years and I can prove it... even thugh most creation scientists are weak and make me crazy.
Anyway.... HI.
My name is Jersey, and I am a recovering sinner. I am addicted to Sin and the shiney things of the world.
If anyone can help me find my way back to trusting and loving G-d, please help me.
:) Susie

I have 3 kids. 24. 17. 15. My 17 yr old has become super defiant. He and his 15 yr old sister have on their own decision stopped going to their dads because he and his household is so toxic. My 15 yr old and myself feel like we have to tip toe around my son who is 17. And physically towers over us and out weighs us. He has become emotionally abusive and on the verge of becoming physically...
I am a recovering sinner ,also .I was raised in a Christian but I back slid in my teenage years . The LORD took me back after I choose to ruin this blessed life he trusted me with .God's plan for your life is a lot better than All the shiny things this world has to offer .Jesus is compassionate & loving & adores you Jersey .
I am from NY so we are neighbors . I am not a typical NYer though .
My husband is also a non-CHRISTian .He is merely a person who believes CHRIST exists and only has faith in himself & money .I pray I can get him to accept CHRIST into his heart .
We chose not to have children due to my poor genetics .I inherited a disability from my precious ,beloved earthly Father.
I pray I can help you find your way back to OUR LORD .You simply need the faith of a mustard seed which I think you have .I will water it so that it becomes a GIGANTIC tree.
JESUS /God is STILL calling you to be a bigger part of the church.

Also, in Romans 11:29 it says that "the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable". (NASB). So I believe He still has the same call on your life.
God is still there and I believe that 'praying whenever you think of it as you go through your day' intimacy is still what God wants with all of us - and He's willing to have that with you even if you're still mad.
I guess I should have ended with the part about God's call being irrevocable, so there, it's here too.
May God overwhelm you with His love and mercy.

I am also in PA. (Hamburg).I too am a confessed sinner. I was brought up in a dysfunctional family so I was taught early on to feel guilt, shame. As a child, i only remember getting to church to sport the frilly dresses at Christmas (and we can't forget the Easter bonnets lol) I heard stories of how my mom from the time she was born til her 18th birthday she would only miss two weeks of Sunday school. (Her dad was superintendent and was very involved with their church.)
My realization (that I did have that mustard seed in there somewhere) would be nurtured by neighbors who would take me to their church after my mom died and while I struggled to care for an alcoholic father and abusive brother (verbal not physical)
For a very long time, i also was angry with God......for plopping me here in the middle of such a mess. But, after different situations, I would be led to counseling ( or therapy). Now I am finally realizing that He is still there. With his help, I would be led to a better understanding as to why things are the way they are. Each new lesson and each new person i do get to know and chat and share with does touch my life in some small way.
It is like my very own path of stepping stones toward that happier, healthier life.
Because I often worked, I did not join a new church when we moved here (13 years ago) I do attend hubby's sister's church sometimes. I do talk to Him alot...(not always sure He wants to hear me. ) and eventually he does answer me.
I do also hope and pray that you will come to realize that He is still there for you....still has those steps to lead you.....just need to open up to hear them.
(PS....I am still a sinner and do like shiny things too......I think deep down we all do feel this way...at least a little.)
God bless.
Kim
& saving us .
Kim, It was not a coincidence that your neighbors nurtured your faith BUT a GOD-incidence ,lol.
Those who have received JESUS Christ as Savior can never be driven from the light of HIS love(John 10:28).
Jesus loves you with an everlasting love .Let HIS light shine through you .
