I find myself enjoying a lazy grey thunderous day with my son. I'm completely relaxed and not obsessing over my phone, not wondering why he hasn't called, not hoping he will, not white-knuckling through every waking moment of my day. And I'm looking forward to more of the same as the evening rolls on.

That's what's most important to me. My best friend came to visit a few night ago and commented on how smiley my son is. She said she never saw a kid smile so much.
I guess I'm doing something right :)
If nothing else, my boy deserves a happy mamma and I'm determined to follow through with that...

Good for you! I have actually had a great day with my son, too, and felt really good about focusing on my love for him instead of some other dude.

good i am happy for you.... i have noticed lately that my kids do better when i am in a good spot also... they are 30 22 and 23... when i am down and out they seem to be more down and out....
