Since we are, somewhat, on the topic of the shortcomings of men, I would like to offer an opinion. Over time, I've asked myself time after time WHY? Why are men the way they are? Why does it seem that they haven't a clue? Why do they think that they have license to destroy our lives and the lives of children whenever it's convient for them? More often than not the answer I come up with is that they don't know any better. They act as they do because they will mimic the behavior of other men especially their fathers, their first and often the only example they have for a lot of years. Mommies have accepted that male behavior should be taught by a male. Mommies raise girls...their daughters...and the male philosophy continues to pass from generation to generation. I'm guilty of this subjugation myself. Hence, my son treats women like they are here for his pleasure and use. I do not really like the way my son turned out but I am guilty of following the old premise. For the most part, his behavior was absorbed from his father. We are not close and I would have to say that it's probably too late for me to have any influence over him at this point. Well, if this is an accurate picture of things, why should we expect anything to ever change? It's like the blind leading the blind and mothers stand aside and watch. I know it sounds like a monumental task but would you agree that we're way overdue to change this?
