Women who Love too Much Community Group
WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
I'm glad to hear you have been doing a concrete thing like therapy as well. It's one thing to white knuckle it and not date for a year, and another thing to actually go into therapy and do the work. Kudos
"Since then, I have dated very little and have found myself in a really good place. I am happy with my own company and no longer feel the need to constantly be with someone or talking to someone or even texting. Most days I can say I am truly content."
That is really inspiring, like you've cut out all of the clutter in your life so that you can get to what really matters.
Take care my friend,

My ex was in sporadic contact till about February this year. After one text in which he referred to his sexual escapades, I stopped responding and now the texts and emails have stopped. I am so glad to be left alone.
I go to movies and shows and days out on my own and for the first time in my life, I can't see those experiences lacking anything in the way of a man's company. I guess I have come to a place where I finally like myself..
Yes, the decluttering has been both physical and metaphorical. I have let go of a lot of possessions, friends and thoughts and it has helped a lot.
Hope all is well with you too.
Lots of love

It's great to, not just hear from you, but also hear that you're in such a good place! Thanks for checking in. Stories of success and recovery are all too rare on these boards and yet they're so important.
I like how you are approaching dating. It seems to me that the dating thing should happen AFTER we get to that good place, not before. Because until you're feeling good in your own skin, dating can take on too much importance. Feeling lonely can generate greater hopes leading to greater disappointments, that sort of thing. At least in my experience. I'm happy to say I've finally gotten to a good place now too. For me, dating is currently very low on the radar whereas socializing and enjoying people's company -- making connections -- asking myself what "connection" is -- all of that has become high priority. I think it's part of a process of carving out a "safe" zone for me from where I can interacting with others. And I've fought so hard for this comfort zone, that I'm not about to give it up for just anyone.
