WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
I was born in a very dysfonctionnal home,. My mother was a religious fanatic and my father an active alcoholic. My older brother had a terrible temper, and there use to be shouts, scandals, insults, and the whole family lived in tension and disorder.
As a child I tried hard to arrang things by working hard at shool and having the best notes.
As a teenager I was my mother's confident and she asked ME for advise on her problems.
All that was inadequate and as I grew I wanted so much to get out o there.
I became very wild with Young men, always dating to late hours and using sex to control them.
When I was 20 there was a scandal with my brother who actually hit me and hurt me so I left the home in the night with a suitcase to go live with a man who was 20 years older than me.
Istayed two years with that man, but I didn't feel safe because he had issues with extreme jeallousy and Nothing could calm him.
At that time my Gynecologist gave me a copy of Robin Norwood's book.
I read it in a row and I cried so much.
I left that man and went to live with a roomate. One day in a party I met my ex-husband.
When I saw him I thought : "He looks a bit perverted, I am sure I can fix him".
This is crazy because because 10 years later I was taking him to court for harrassing our children.
I of course divorced, the children grew fine and here I am at the age of 53 with a serene and happy life.
I have been re-reading Robin Norwood's books for more than thirty years.
It has payed.

Yes, it is true, I have been courageous, but I believe any other mom would have beaten those miles of lenghts to protect her small children from a predator like a furious mother lion. We women have that in our guts.
Do not worry too much, the preak had court condamnation and there has been since a High court judgement so that he never approches or contact us anymore.
Children were Young, but old enough to express themselves and they went at that time into therapy with child psychologist for a while.
Today my boy is 23 he has finished college and is a successful manager in a renoun hôtel here in Paris, France.
My daughet is 21 and she has finished management studies in College together with Professional modern danse, she is working in an insurance company and is a successful danser in London, England.
This is luckily one story with a happy end, but I wanted to share because I wanted to show how our loving too much can put our lives in danger and also compromise the security in which we bring up our children.

The child therapist told me at that time not to worry, because it was a thousand times worst for a child to live all his life with a distant and unavailable father, because it is so subtile that the child can't put this kind of trauma into words.
