WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
It's taken me over two years to come to this point of acceptance. I can finally look at all his dysfunctional parts and accept that there were too many things I'd never be able to FIX!. Perhaps the worst lesson to be learned from this experience is that love doesn't really conquer all. I have believed that it could all my life. That's over 60 years....I guess we're never too old to learn but in all honesty, that's one lesson I didn't want to learn.
I am so there with you. we are 10 years apart but I feel like we are sisters. Your posts always make so much sense and rign so true to me. I too believed that with Love we could overcome an that I knew he and I had issues but we could work through them as it should be, but my beliefs were not his beliefs, unbeknownst to me he had lied and manipulated to get all the advantages that he could from being married to someone so loyal, dedicated and resourceful, willing to work my ass off to pay for whatever needed to be paid for, etc. It was my beliefs that got me here and it is devastating to realize that love and hard work can't conquer this dilemma...I did not know about pathology, that someone that seemed not like a murderer, could not change! What ignorance can do is astounding.

When you think you have someone in your life that loves you enough to make things work, someone that thinks YOUR worth fighting for and worth fighting to keep. The problem is WE were the ones fighting all by ourselfs to save our relationships, thats sad.. I didn't see it at the time but I sure do now...Love can only conquer all when BOTH of the partners is the relationship are willing to put in the effort... Mine ex wasn't willing to put any effort into our relationship... I'm pretty sure thats why most of us are here because our partners weren't willing... Thats not love, thats selffish... I do still believe in a true parntership between 2 people that love each other, 2 people that see the worth in the relatonship and see something worth fighting for to never lose each other, LOVE DOES CONQUER ALL... The sad part is this wasn't our exs!!! Can someone please show us all the way to find the men that think we are worth fighting for???!!! lol I would sure love to have that kinda man one day:)
