I was out putting my groceries away when i hear some guy yelling at the top of his lungs calling this girl a bitch and saw him smack her. I watched for a moment while he continued yelling before i decided I was going to intervene. Calling the cops wouldn't have done anything but take a report. and by the time they had got there they would have been gone. I wanted to make sure she was ok. so i pulled up in my truck and asked her if she needed a ride anywhere. The guy got mouthy with me but didn't approach me. she kinda shook her head no. I told him that I saw him hit her and that I wasn't going to stand there and let him treat her like that if she wanted to go. she said she was ok and he pulled her to walk off. I hope my stopping helped her see that somehow people care and she isnt alone. He was so stupid. he was some skinny white guy talking like he just crawled out of a compton gutter.

This whole situation triggered me especially in light of recent events. I cried the whole way home. People are so fucking messed up. That was me at one point in my life, with some idiot yelling at me and me cowering emotionally frozen from doing anything. I kept going back in my head if i should have just kicked his ass and had her get in the truck. my head is spinning over and over again with different scenarios. I just really wanted to help her, i almost wish i would have been more aggressive, but I couldnt help if she didnt want to get in, and I couldnt do anything to him if he didnt hit me first. if he would have came at me it would have been a different story.

its gonna be a long rest of the day.
