WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
At least I thought he was a friend. I thought he cared about me. I used to chat with him a lot before I got back together with my ex and was kind of attracted to him but also he bugged me because he was insensitive sometimes toward me (and others.) So I talked to him for the first time in a long time and told him the story of how I had gotten back together with my exbf for a short time and he was really rude to me, saying that was dumb. He had no empathy at all and God I think it's another one. Well I guess the bright spot of all this crap is that I can see I was still doing this crap (trying to get love out of unavailable people) before the exbf.
It's not dumb it's complicated. :( I'm glad at least here you guys understand why someone would do something like that.

"don't throw your pearls to the swine" reminds me of what you just did. B. Brown states that people should earn the right to hear your story. People can not be empathetic past their own point of willingness to be vulnerable. He wasn't willing or able to relate to you on that level. He did not allow himself to go there. It is not dumb that you gave your ex another chance but next time you need to tell your story or share your life do it with someone who has earned the right to hear it.
