I know this sounds crazy but I'm using it as a positive sign....Yesterday I went to a really big library in my daughter's town.(i'm visiting) As usual I started browsing in the pysch aisle for books on narcissism, passive aggressive behavior, committmentphobia etc. looking for ones I might not have read. I checked out four. Guess what. When I sat down to educate myself a bit more, I discovered something. They don't interest me anymore! Today is my 68th birthday. I'm counting that as a BD gift to myself. He had his chance. He blew it.

Thanks db. I'm not sure I'm healed but I can survive without him. It might take a bit to get back that old self confidence but lesson learned...I hate to say this but...I used to take people at their word. I've learned that I can't afford to do that anymore. Doing that allowed him to rope me in. I'm ordering that stencil that I'm painting across that big beam in my living room. "Never make someone a priority in your life when you are only an option in theirs."

Oh, solo, I hate that, too! I was disillusioned that I could take people at their word, too, and I hate knowing that I cannot.

And, I'm in serious need of regaining my self-confidence, also!

Thanks everybody. It sure took awhile to get to this point. A big part of it was getting to a point where I WANTED to let go. I think it might be harder because I recognize that I might not have many more chances to find someone. If I don't, it means I might be alone for a long time. I'm not good at "alone".
