Women who Love too Much Community Group
WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
I struggle so much with liking let alone loving myself, especially because all these painful experiences make me feel like an idiot/loser..
I am trying hard to just say; ok, this is how I was made, and all I can do is try my best to be a good, kind person and accept myself completely.
For me, I think loving myself unfolded in many different forms. The most important thing is to choose to love yourself. It means loving yourself despite all the thoughts that say you cant love yourself. You have to choose to love the parts of yourself that you feel are unlovable. Also telling the truth to myself and to people I trusted (being vulnerable) has helped me to gain a sense of self love. Lastly, no more trying to fit in. I try to consciously be aware of not puffing myself up or making myself small. I set an intention to show up fully in all situations.
What I like to add is compassion. Or maybe someone said it, sorry. I mean compassion for others. I feel at my best when I've made a difference in someone's day. When I've managed to warm someone's heart or ease their worry somehow. I feel like literally hugging myself when that happens. Sheer JOY.
Thank you for your responses. I do love myself. I do. My relationship with myself : I guess were on a break right now. lol
But hey guess what? My love for myself is everlasting, It just gets ill sometimes.
♥
i feel like what helped me love myself was
1. tell the truth--own my own shit. fully accept that my resentments are mine alone.you spot it you got it. blame squarely on my own shoulders.
2. learning about and practicing SELF- acceptance and SELF- validation
3. becoming my best cheerleader stop seeking approval from others.
4. doing things i say I'm going to do. not doing things i say i'm not going to do. keeping my word to myself.
5. above all else like you said learning the art of self compassion.
6. filling my own hole with healthy stuff.
7. changing my deeply held stories and beliefs about myself and my history and my abilities.
8. forgiveness of god myself my family everyone.
once we love ourselves that will automatically be reflected in the universe and we will have developed boundaries to not tolerate lesser treatment than our self respect commands. not demands but commands.
Every day is a better day than the one before :)
During my daily lunch time nature hike through my beautiful city today, I heard myself laughing whole heartedly at something one of my dear colleagues/friend said. It felt so good. I haven't laughed like that in a while and I missed that feeling, that cramp in my side. :)
