Women who Love too Much Community Group
WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
I am one of you (love the beach, in the East) :) I am a very old timer on this forum. It has changed a lot over the years, there used to be a lot of engagement. I can say this: reading the book and feeling your feelings is a great first step. Have you considered therapy, along with it?
Keep posting and let it all out. Journaling has been my saving grace over the years. Hugs.
It's so nice to hear from someone. Can't beat the beach, might be my therapy this summer. How long have you been with the forum? I realized after I started reading other posts that many people haven't posted since 2018/2017, so I wasn't sure if I should send a reply or not or if I should keep posting.
Thanks for your encouraging comments and suggestions, I start therapy next week, I have known this about myself for a while now I guess, just never really wanted to believe it was true and thought that I could change all on my own, but I realize after my last relationship ended that I need help.
Have you completed all the steps? What helped you? After you finished the book did you go to therapy?
Journaling is my go to right now and is helping, along with long walks.
Enjoy the sun shine!
To answer your question, I found this board in 2010 after a very cataclysmic breakup. I was barely able to function for a while, but through reading, therapy, the support of friends and family, etc., I was able to get through it and take steps forward in life. It still wounds me to this day, but I am much more aware of my habits.
There is another book called: "Letters from Women who Love too Much" that is also good, the follow-on to the original book. If you would like me to send it to you, DM me your address.
