I am suing him for the $4K plus that he owes me. I am a paralegal with a small law firm and I finally confessed to my boss how much I am owed by my ex. He hit the roof and immediately wrote a demand letter to him. He has until the middle of December to pay me or we are suing him. I hate that this is going to cause him to react and try to contact me - even though he is married already. That won't top him from attacking me and trying to belittle me to make himself feel better. However, it is so empowering to KNOW I am strong enough to do this!! Several months ago I would have been a basket case at the thought and just ate the money, Nope - not now! That's MY money and I will get it back. Ladies, time and FULL NC works!! I swear by it. It is hard in the beginning but it is the ONLY route. If we keep letting them get our joy we will never recover. If you are just getting started, or in a rough spot - HANG ON! You will be OK. I promise you this. I still have flashbacks and anxious moments but I can overcome them pretty quickly because I AM strong enough and so are all of you! Even though I have been absent and healing on my own for a while I am here for any of you that need a ear to listen.

Thank you. It is good, but honestly some of the crazy feelings and anxiety have reared their ugly head as I am beginning this process. This is why NC is SO IMPORTANT. Contact is not only actual conversations or texts but thoughts as well. We cannot let them contact our souls in any way. 9 months later and I still felt ill when I took that certified letter to the Post Office this morning. The next few days may be hell but I have to keep reminding myself that I am stronger than his insanity. My good sense and kindness overcomes his sick behavior. When he lashes out at me I will remember how far I have come and not let him drag me down. Lord help me.

We are all here ,stay strong and keep going ,if anything to keep us babies in the process to keep going ......
I read posts like yours and it inspires me to keep going,some days are so dark and lonely ( although they were with him aswell)....
Holiday season doesn't help ,it seems to magnify what you haven't got ,but I will survive ,with the help of wine ,chocolate,friends,family and you all on here ..
I admire you for doing what your doing and WHEN you do get that money back ...treat yourself on something majorly extravagant ....you deserve it my friend xxxxxx

You can do it! I will not tell you it is easy or that there is a miracle cure. I assure you there are days when you just want to pull the covers over your head and stay there. Literally, one step at a time. One foot in front of the other. Make a checklist of normal daily tasks if that is what it takes you to get through the day.. Be gentle on yourself and move slowly. If you feel yourself retreating into destructive thought patterns - call a friend (if they understand), pick up a good book, or come here! Whatever you do - DO NOT CONTACT HIM!! Turn off your phone if you have to. It will keep you from checking for a text every few minutes :-) and throwing the phone across the room if one never comes. One day you will get up without having to force yourself too. One day you will realize that the silent phone is a blessing and not a curse! I promise. I never thought I would see the day that I could truly say I am OK. Still guarded - but OK nonetheless.

Congratulations! Just guard your heart in the process too. We're stronger now but I truly believe these guys are just pure evil. Take care during this process. :-)
