WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
I'm watching this documentary called Miss Representation on Netflix right now.
It's really kind of smacked me in the face about how unequal my relationship with exbf was. How I was always trying to live up to his ideal of the perfect woman and feeling like I had to compete with any other attractive female, real or fantasy.
It's reminding me of how all these messages are in the media about how the most important thing about a female is how she looks. It's like I've been so inundated with these messages that they don't even strike me as something wrong anymore...it's like it's just normal.
Has Does anyone else have any suggestions for good, empowering movies to watch or good movies for women who are overcoming/healing from abuse to watch?

in the opposite direction i just saw frozen ground with nicholas cage and it was about a serial killer in AK. i didn't know this but it turned out to be true. made me want to blow doors on women's oppression.
i think it's why i watch a lot of ID tv. it's all about murder and abuse. i'm still trying to figure out why it makes me feel so clear and strong. it's also why i love why men love bitches. but it's about murder??? i'm still trying to sort out what i'm getting out of it but for years now i've been glued to ID tv. there's this one called i survived coming on i love this one. there are stories of surviving too.
but i digress. i feel like i'm still trying to figure out the psychology of a sociopath. i'm studying. i can't believe what people can do to another person or animal. fascinated. perplexed. i started checking out books on criminal psychology...maybe there's a phd in my future..
Im fascinated with things like that too finn, I did my dissertation on Adolf Hitler….!!!
I have always been fascinated in a weird way with how humans can be so callous and the nazis are a prime example of this. Hitler and Churchill and Eisenhower were all talented artists and this is what I based my study on. Its interesting how they can create such beautiful things but be so heartless. ( not that Im including Churchill and Eisenhower in that statement! ) actually Churchill taught Eisenhower how to paint….
I also did a study I called - Is Creativity affected by Captivity …thats a long one too involving research on PoWs and prisoners who created no matter what the environment.
So we all have our struggles eh!
