well my ex husband was from yahoo singles. so was that successful….yes in terms of meeting someone we were together for 5 years…

i have a lot of friends doing it and in my opinion it's very hard to meet someone who wants what you want. i think most people either don't have social skills and are serial daters for a reason….some of my friends have said that they have gone on there gotten into a relationship gotten off of there and then the realtipsip didn't work out. so when they went back on there even years later all the same people were there……..yikes! also a lot of dishonesty going on especially with height and ages...

the upshot is that you can call it quits anytime you want. you can "practice" your new skills on these dates. and you never know.

if you go for it i would be really safe….tell someone whenever you are going on a date all the details, even during the days. and talk on the phone a lot before you meet.

chance, it could be fun if you're ready to date!! and if you're not ready it will become clear very quickly.

i did it for 3 months and met the man I have been dating for a year and a half now. He is a good man, not without issue, but good. I went into it just out of pure curiosity. Yes, be careful and be picky - super picky!! I had one friend who knew what I was doing and I had her help me screen the profiles. She saw red flags that I did not - so helpful! Be completely honest in your profile and read between the lines in the men profiles. Believe me - you get more from what they don't say! Too good to be true typically is just that! The pictures are typically old and run from the ones that have pictures where they have obviously cut anther girl out of! I only went on 2 dates - like I said be picky! Some people are on there as serial daters and some are looking for a booty call. There are scammers too - never chat with someone outside the site, You will get hacked. I know people it has happened to, Always meet in a public place and tell at least one person where you are going. It is worth a try but remember it is only a date and you don't ever have to see them again or even see them the first time. get to know them through messaging on the site - if that is not OK with them - move on.

yeah, lots of pressure to skip the talking beforehand and just meet up…..don't do it that's a problem. also i have a friend who met a scammer said he was military deployed…..bad news dude….even sent pictures in uniform, who knows if it was actually him but he was a bad dude. he started asking for money….fishing..

if you want to join a dating website for ONLY that...dating..its fine...dont expect to find a soul mate and all. If you find one it will be a bonus. And yes talk a lot before going out with him.

I had that same type of scammer. He had a profile with him in uniform in the desert, He wanted to chat on Yahoo because he only had a three day trial to the site, Luckily I had been warned about this, Could have been the dame guy! crazy.

You ladies have been so helpful.... Honestly I think you scared me out of it. I don't think its worth the money or the time. I would rather meet someone in person and at least know who I am talking to as opposed to being scammed. I just have to be patient.

I am currently reading that book right now!!! I am really trying out the techniques outlined in the book. I had posted about a man I met through a friend who asked me out. I said yes, well I haven't heard from him in a week in a half. The old me might have tried to contact him, but the new me hasn't because if he wanted to go out he would have called or text. So I am not going to waste time or energy on this man.
