everyone knows ive been really unsure about my current BF after everything.
he's been fat, lazy, and unmotivated, which makes me feel like i will be at a standstill my whole life, but i couldnt bring myself to leave him. there has been a HUGE change in him. at least for this week, and i dont think its going to stop. sure, he is still messy, and forgetful, but he started working out, seriously, running two times a day, and doing situp and pushup every chance he does, went and got a bunch of supplements. says he has to lose 100 pounds to go to dive school in the navy, its dangerous, but its a good job and will take care of all of us.
i like that he is working out. it makes me feel better about him. i dont know where we will end up, or if this will help in the long run or not. i hope so, but it makes me feel that if we stay together, then there is a future on the horizon, not a life of wait and see.

Hi Dracona, I'm fairly new here, but I think you really want your relationship to work. I hope that he keeps up this positive change & that he doesn't go back to his old ways and leave you disappointed. Good luck!!

Thanks, i really hope he does too. it would be nice to have that security in the future.

Keep us posted ...that will be interesting to see if he continues to work on changing himself and how you will react to him if he does. I know you want this to work, so I will hope for the best for you and the relationship.

I do find myself wanting to engage with him more, like casual conversations and hugs, where before i really didnt want him near me unless i called him over, and we have been talking alot more this week, and he seems more responsible with some things. but ya know, people like us are prone to negativity, cant just be positive and supportive, have to wonder what the catch is or when its going to blow up... lol.
but i do know that if he fails at this, it will be done, because he will have gotten my hopes up for nothing when i hardly had anything to stand on to begin with.

Oh I hope he continues. I know the to good to be true feeling...LOL. Or the inability not to get our hopes up high for fear of disappointment.

Hmmm, that makes me suspicious... I would be very cautious... I don't trust that this is the only reason. No one just gets motivated overnight like that Dracona... that takes time and you should have seen some movement in that direction over time. But that all of a sudden thing... there is something more to that... I hate to rain on your parade, but I am so suspicious of the overnight change thing. Did he know about this before this week? I don't think they accept people in the Navy that are 100 pounds overweight... they couldn't pass the physical? This makes no logical sense to me.. sorry maybe I'm just so jaded!
