We are at 1.02 a litre which is about the same. It's funny though we were up in arms when it hit 1.00 !!! Now they have us brainwashed into thinking that this is a marvelous price.
I think what I am going to write is going to make you all angry so don't shoot me please! Here in the Middle East we fill up our Honda CRV for about 11 Dollars!
I wish I hadn't put it down - now I've upset you all! Well I might as well go the whole way and tell you that most of our petrol is "given" to us by the company in the form of vouchers, now you are all going to kill me. To tell you all the truth I would rather pay a high price for petrol and be able to go back to my own home, friends and my good life than stay here with temps in the 50's (celsius), high humidity, long aeroplane trips because there is nothing here. Suddenly my friends and family are sponging off me like crazy because I am perceived as rich but money doesn't make you rich, just look at the latest global financial mess - what makes you rich is your family, friends and a good life, oh and DS!
Hi Ziporah! Don't you date go anywhere! We like you here!!! I'm glad that you bring us news from the east. The gas price thing might be crazy .. but we still want to know!! I'm not mad at you in any way shape or form, or the life you must have there! I'm glad that you bring us news like that... you don't set the prices! You are not responsible. :)
Please continue to give us news, and your opinions or anything!! But don't go!! Have a great day girlfriend!! Sante, J.
Thanks Sante, Maybe you will feel better about the price of petrol when I tell you that for broccoli we pay between 7 and 9 dollars a kig depending on whether we can get it or not. Fuel may be cheap here but overseas manufacturers are putting the fuel increases onto to goods that this country then imports and we are finding here how the price of stuff has gone up - this country produces very little. The increased fuel prices has hit everyone globally, thank goodness its going down!
Gosh, KathyAK, where do you live? I know that can't bet 99 cents in AMERICAN dollars? Is that for a gallon? A pint? Sorry, I just WISH it was 99 cents here, or even $1.99.
Here it's down to $3.28. Back in June it was $4.40 a gallon. That's when oil was up to $130 a barrel. Now it's down to about $72 a barrel. So it seems like price should be almost half of $4.40 a gallon, instead of only a quarter lower.
Don't get me wrong. I'm happy it's going down. Mostly, I'm happy for the economy and prices of other products going down. But it seems like the oil companies are making even bigger profits off of the current price. And I'm wondering if it's just a manipulation because McCain is behind in the polls. Are the Republican oil men in the White House asking their oil company cronies to lower the price temporarily until the election? Is it just a manipulation? Will prices go back up after the election?
America desperately needs the current futures and derivative trading that have created havoc in the economy to be eradicated. Consumers and taxpayers are paying for the greed and manipulation of Wall Street elite.
I hope this current disaster will cause some fundamental changes in economic laws and regulation.
wow prices are so different everywhere! what the heck is goin on? i know on the news not too long ago they were saying that the US is being investigated for gas gauging so we are supposed to see the prices continue to drop drastically. now what state has the $1 and $2 gas prices?? that's just crazy! i only dream of seeing those prices here in Hawaii. the thing that continues to anger me is that the prices of food in the stores is still soaring! just a couple of days ago i was looking at boxes of cereals for $7 a box!! i think the grocery stores need to be investigated for price gauging next! milk for a 1/2 gallon is like $4.99! what a load of crap!
