I am a chaplain with a law enforcement chaplaincy and clinical psychologist near Sacramento, and will be co-presenting a companion track session at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) convention in Orlando next month. The session focuses on the challenges of LE marriage, as well as coping skills, strategies and resources to help LE marriages at risk. The topic is being co-presented with an LE leader from Florida, whose own experiences provide a first person narrative and expertise in dealing with these issues.
I have discussed this with some LE spouses who have been incredibly helpful, but would welcome your input as well to represent the opinions of a broad group pf LEOWs. I've created a relatively brief survey which provides more detailed information about the session, entitled "No More Victims - Critical Care of the 'Flat Line' LE Marriage". The survey is totally anonymous and can be completed in about 7 minutes, depending on level of participation. The survey can be accessed at the following link. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LEOMarriage2018
Please feel free to share this with as many colleagues, friends and your own spouses as possible. Your voice and thoughts will hopefuly have a large audience and reach cheifs from around the country. If attending the IACP meeting, please plan to join us for this session on Sunday, 10/7 at 8 am.
Many thanks for your time, consideration and sacrifices on behalf of our communities and nation.
